Black Clover M is a mobile gacha game that’s officially licensed to use the Black Clover name. The game has been out for Global release since last year, and many are having fun with the game as it continues to get updated and drops more content with every month the game has been out.

In recent news, characters like Vanessa Enoteca are coming into the game, and she has been a popular demand for a while now. With her now in the game, it’s high time for you to figure out how to use Vanessa efficiently with the best build possible in this guide.

Vanessa Guide & Build

Vanessa is a brand new character entering the fold in Black Clover M (for Global players, at least), so it’s best to know everything about her in the game. With that said, you should also know everything about the other units in the game, like which characters are the best PVP characters you can use in Black Clover M.

Skills

Vanessa is an SR Sense Supporter. Now, while some of you may be turned away from the fact that Vanessa is an SR instead of an SSR or LR, you might be surprised that she can be one of the best Supporters once you get them up to LR. But that’s the downside with Vanessa, she’s only good as a Supporter.

Her skills are all mostly good for support except for three skills, which are Thread Whip, Combined Attack, and United Attack.

Here are Vanessa’s skills and what they do:

• Thread Whip
  • Whips an enemy with a thread, dealing damage.
    • Grants [Increased ACC Lv. 2] to the ally with the highest ATK for 2 turn(s).
      • Lv. 2: Skill ATK +5%, Skill MATK +5%
      • Lv. 3: Skill ATK +5%, Skill MATK +5%
      • Lv. 4: Skill ATK +5%, Skill MATK +5%

• Thread Binding Magic
  • Buffs all allies with support magic that binds allies together with threads.
    • Grants all allies [Increased DEF Lv. 2] for 2 turn(s).
    • 40% chance to [Remove 2 Instance(s) of Continuous Damage] from an ally.
    • Grants all allies [Increased Endurance Lv.3] for 2 turn(s). (Enhanced version only)
      • Lv. 2: [Dispel DoT] chance +10%
      • Lv. 3: [Dispel DoT] chance +10%
      • Lv. 4: [Dispel DoT] chance +10%
      • Lv. 5: [Dispel DoT] chance +10%
• Guiding Thread
  • Buffs all allies with a mana-infused threads.
    • Grants all allies [Total Defense] for 2 turn(s).
    • 60% chance to grant an ally [Blessing of Protection] for 2 turn(s).
      • Lv. 2: [Blessing of Protection] chance +10%
      • Lv. 3: [Blessing of Protection] chance +10%
      • Lv. 4: [Blessing of Protection] chance +10%
      • Lv. 5: [Blessing of Protection] chance +10%
• Combined Attack
  • Performs a combined attack with partnered mage, dealing damage to an enemy.
    • Grants self and partnered mage [DEF PEN Lv.3].
      • Lv. 2: Skill ATK +5%, Skill MATK +5%
      • Lv. 3: Skill ATK +5%, Skill MATK +5%
      • Lv. 4: Skill ATK +5%, Skill MATK +5%
      • Lv. 5: Skill ATK +5%, Skill MATK +5%
• United Attack
  • Vanessa and Finral weave a dome of threads that deals damage to all enemies.
    • Grants all allies [Increased DMG RES Lv. 3] for 2 turn(s).
• Enhanced Passive
  • LR+2: 20% chance to grant self [Remove 1 Debuff] at the start of a turn.
  • LR+5: 30% chance to grant self [Remove 2 Debuffs] at the start of a turn.

Gear

Vanessa is a Supporter unit, so she’s not going to be of much help when fighting in a fight. Even her skills practically scream “support unit”. With that said, we will be focusing on keeping her alive during the fight and have her make moves faster compared to everyone else. That way, Vanessa will be able to take damage and then make a move faster thanks to her Speed.

Our primary focus will be equipping gear that focuses on boosting her DEF and Speed stats. However, you can prioritize on what stat you want to increase first. Most would have more DEF gear to keep Vanessa alive, while others would focus on Speed so she can make a move quicker than the opponents.

The gear set I recommend would be 4 UR DEF gear, 2 UR Speed gear, and 1 SSR Speed gear. This prioritizes DEF first, as most players will target Vanessa first due to her support skills.

Talents

For Vanessa’s Talents, we are not going to be paying much attention to the Attack Talents. After all, Vanessa is 100% support and will remain that way. However, we can do something to increase her damage, even if it’s just a little. The main thing her Talents will be used for is to keep her alive and have her use her skills faster, which is where Defense Talents and Support Talents shine.

Here are the best Talents for Vanessa to use:

• Attack Talents
  • Battle Frenzy – Grants 2.5% [Increased CRIT Rate] at the start of a wave. (Stacks up to 5 times)
  • Increased MATK – [MATK] +7%
• Defense Talents
  • Increased DEF – DEF +20%
  • Endurance – Grants [DEF] +4% and [CRIT RES] +2% at the start of a wave. (Stacks up to 5 times)
• Support Talents
  • Increased DMG RES – [DMG RES] +10%
  • Mage’s Blessing – 20% chance to grant a [Reduced Skill II’s Cooldown by 1 Turn] buff at the start of a turn.

Skill Pages & Teams

Since we have established that Vanessa is a character that is primarily for support, we will have to pick out Skill Pages that works in her favor. Surprisingly, Vanessa has a handful of Skill Pages that actually work better with her, and only one of them is an SR Skill Page while the others are SSR.

Here are the best Skill Pages for Vanessa to use:

• SSR Skill Pages
  • The Captain’s Condemnation
    • Upon using “Skill II,” grants the ally with the lowest HP [HP Recovery] equal to 6/10% of their maximum HP.
  • Insatiable Quest
    • Upon using “Skill II,” applies 10% [Increased All ATK] to the ally with the highest ATK for 2 turn(s).
  • Moonlight Necklace
    • Applies 40/80% [Increased DEF] and 6/10% [Increased Healing] to yourself.
• SR Skill Pages
  • Oath of Protection
    • Applies 20/40% [Increased DMG RES] to the ally with the lowest HP for 1 turn(s) upon using “Skill II.”
