Rune Factory 5 continues to bring together fantasy and farming by having Farm Dragons. Yes, you read that right. Farm Dragons. Farm Dragons are a great source of minerals called Crystals, and there are 5 Farm Dragons in total that can be fed Crystals. But what do these Crystals do? What are they for? How can you get them? In this guide, we’ll explain how these features work and how you can get these for yourselves.

There are 5 Farm Dragon in total, and each Farm Dragon have an element to them. There’s Earth, Fire, Ice, Wind, and Terra.

All 5 of these Farm Dragons are unlocked as you progress through the main story and are not just something seasonal. Once you unlock them, you will permanently have access to them at any time. Each Farm Dragon location has a spot where you can plant your crops. It doesn’t matter what you place here and the element of what the Farm Dragon has no effect on the area.

There are two ways to get Crystals, one that involves having to find them and the other is by buying them. The first one can be done by stealing it from enemies. However, you can only steal Crystal Fragments, which is not a whole Crystal. To get a whole Crystal, you need 5 Crystal Fragments.

Once you do have 5, you then head over to Crystalabra and have it formed into one whole Crystal. However, if you have upgraded the Crystalabra once, then you can speak to the shop owner and purchase the Crystals directly, although it comes at a heavy price.

Now that you have your Crystals, you then head back to the Farm Dragon. Now the purpose of these Crystals is to feed the Dragon, because the Dragon is what makes the soil in the area good. If you feed the Dragon Gaia Crystals, then the health of the soil is increased. If you feed the Dragon Ignis Crystals, then the speed of how fast crops will grow increases.

Each Crystal has their own special effect on the soils, and each Crystal can be fed to all Dragons, regardless of their element. The Crystals are simply a way for you to take care of the soil through the Dragons.
