Grounded is an open world survival game which is available on PC and multiple consoles like Xbox Series X & S, PlayStation 4 & 5 and even Nintendo Switch.
Grounded just recently received a huge Update 1.4 called Fully Yoked. It brings a lot of new content to the game. One of the new additions is the New Game Plus mode which itself has a lot of new stuff for players to explore. This guide will show you how to activate New Game Plus. Continue reading to learn more.
How To Activate New Game Plus (and its Location) in the Fully Yoked Update
A lot of games have New Game Plus modes which are easily available to access after finishing the game. But in Grounded, you have to defeat a couple of bosses and then go to a specific location in order to get to New Game Plus. Now it is totally worth doing this as New Game Plus unlocks a ton of new features.
Below are the steps required to reach New Game Plus:
- Defeat the following bosses:
- Hedge Broodmother
- Mantis
- Wasp Queen
- Start the JavaMatic.
- Go to the Secret Lab near the Pond and use the REMIX.R.
More detailed explanation of the steps is given below with the location of REMIX.R as well.
Hedge Broodmother
The Hedge Broodmother is a boss that is located deep within the Hedge (which itself is found in the South-East corner Biome of the Backyard). You can fight this boss after the Black Anthill Lab. You will find her lair inside a burrow near the Flingman Flying Disc.
This boss is weak to Spicy attacks so using something like the Spicy Coaltana or the Spicy Staff will help you out immensely. Splatbursts are also very effective against her. Also keep a bunch of Smoothies at hand as you will be needing them during the fight.
You can also summon her again after defeating by using Broodmother BLT inside her lair. The recipe for making Broodmother BLT is located inside an outpost slightly north of the Hedge Lab. It is made in an Oven and requires the following items:
- 2x Bombardier Part
- 2x Ladybug Part
- 1x Thistle Needle
Mantis
This is the next boss you need to defeat. The Orchid Mantis can be found in the Orchid Pot which is located in the Shed Surroundings. You need to first get the recipe for Orchid Mantis Kebab. The recipe is located inside Stump Lab Outpost.
However, the recipe is located behind a locked door. To get the key to this door, you need to defeat the Assistant Manager located in the Black Anthill area. The Orchid Mantis Kebab is made inside an Oven and requires the following items:
- 5x Broodmother Chunk
- 2x Fire Ant Head
- 1x Wooden Splinter
Once you summon the Orchid Mantis, you can exploit its Salty weakness by using Salt Morning Star. Again, bring some Smoothies to help you in the battle.
Wasp Queen
The third boss that you will be defeating is called the Wasp Queen. You can find this boss in Wasp Nest which is located in Brawny Boy Bin. To summon the boss, you need the Bee Bee Q Medley item.
You can get the recipe for Bee Bee Q Medley from research notes that you will find around a Skeleton located in the Wasp Nest. This item is also made in the Oven and requires the following items:
- 1x Bee Stinger
- 3x Mosquito Blood Sack
- 1x Tiger Mosquito Beak
- 3x Sour Lump
The Wasp Queen will inflict you with poison a lot so you will find Waspidote and Mithridatism pretty helpful in this battle. You can use the Black Ox Crossbow with Salt Arrows to deal damage to the boss while it is in the air. Other than that, clubs like Salt Morning Star and Club of the Mother Demon are also pretty effective against this boss.
JavaMatic
After you are done with the bosses, you need to start the JavaMatic. This will start the final event of the game in which you need to brew the Embiggening Cocktail by using the JavaMatic. You can start the JavaMatic after clearing the Undershed Lab and saving Dr. Wendell Tully.
Once you start the JavaMatic and put in the ingredients. You will be required to defend 3 Points from enemies until the JavaMatic is done Brewing. After the JavaMatic finishes Brewing, pick up the filled Embiggening Cell.
Location of REMIX.R
After you are done with JavaMatic, you will be tasked with going home. This will lead to the normal game ending. But to get New Game Plus, you need to make your way to the REMIX.R Lab.
Once you cross the zipline and reach the platform shown below. Make your way to the Pond.
Now you need to cross the Pond and reach the other side marked in the image below.
Make your way to the blue and white rod and use it to get to the other side as shown in the image below.
Once you cross over, you need to head towards the right side and move in a straight direction until you find a huge crack in the wall. The crack you need to find is circled in the image below.
If you are having trouble finding this location, refer to the map in the image below.
Once you enter this area, you will come across a Lab door with four TVs placed besides it. Those TVs represent the 3 bosses and the JavaMatic. If you did all the steps, those TVs should have a slash on their screens.
Press the red button and it will open the door. Go to the end of this Lab and you will find the REMIX.R. You will also find a bunch of items scattered around the Lab which you can pick up if you want to. Interact with the REMIX.R to get to New Game Plus.
REMIX.R
The game will give you a POINT OF NO RETURN prompt after interacting, simply click on CONTINUE. You will get a cutscene and afterwards you will find yourself in the Backyard with New Game Plus mode activated.
You will be able to carry all of your existing bases, items, recipes unlocks, etc. with you.
