Apply Pressure At The Right Moments
When many players face an SR Kido in Type Soul, they tend to be either too aggressive or too passive. Most rookies will get too aggressive which results in them walking into SR Kido’s powerful moves like True Power.
On the other hand, you cannot get too passive with SR Kido either. Otherwise, you will not be able to deal any damage to him. In this way, eventually, you’ll find yourself defeated.
One great way to pressure an SR Kido is during their Goryutenmetsu or Dragons move. During this move, SR Kido is stuck in a small animation where he takes time to activate the move.
So, you can push the SR Kido and deal some damage to them. At the same time, if you can block the move that will be even better. Make sure you pressure them during this move so that they do not get comfortable.
At the same time, SR Kido has a bunch of moves that consume a lot of Rei. For example, the Teppusatsu move in Type Soul will consume almost a whole bar of Rei.

Doing this too many times will allow the SR Kido to predict where you will go. In this way, they can place their Get Off Me moves and you’ll always end up landing on them. This will lead to you losing a lot of health.
So, make sure you are always varying your movements. Try to move from the left, from the right and sometimes just back off. By being unpredictable, you will throw off your SR Kido opponent and they will end up wasting their Rei heavy moves.

Since SR Kido is so powerful, he always has the opportunity to turn the tide in his favor. So, if you have an advantage against him, make sure that you do not lose your calm. If this happens, then you’ll end up getting too aggressive resulting in you taking a lot of damage.
