MultiVersus features a range of iconic characters from the beloved WB Universe. You can use their unique move sets to beat other players and get the win. Since they can differ so much, you will need to learn to use a particular character.

In this guide, we’ll be looking at Marvin the Martian, the otherworldly villain from the Looney Tunes. He can be quite a unique character, as we’ll see in this guide. We’ll be looking at his move sets, perks, combos and how you can use him optimally. Let’s dive in!

How To Play Marvin

Interestingly, Marvin the Martian is classified as an Assassin type character in MultiVersus. However, given the number of projectile attacks he has, he differs a lot from the other Assassin characters. You can actually use him both as an Assassin and a Zoner type in MultiVersus.

You can purchase Marvin the Martian for 3000 Gold, or 700 Gleamium. Gleamium is the premium currency in MultiVersus that you can use to purchase all sorts of items and characters. You can use the Battle Pass to get both of these currencies and more if you can progress through the tiers quickly.

Check out our How To Tier Up Fast in Battlepass Guide to learn how! With that said, let’s get into the guide for Marvin the Martian in MultiVersus.

You can use quite a few perks for Marvin the Martian, and we do recommend that you choose those that fit your playstyle. However, if you’re just starting out, there are certain Perks that will always yield you some good results.

Starting off, we have the Y-59 Heat Seekers as his main Perk in MultiVersus. This splits his one main rocket into three weaker ones. It enables you to put constant pressure on the opponent, as three rockets are a lot harder to dodge than one rocket.

Even if only one of these rockets hits, you have the opportunity to follow through.

Next, we have the Snowball Effect Perk which is basically there to boost our damage. You can also use the That’s Flammable Doc perk, as the ignite effect will also cause extra damage.

Following that, we’re using the 2 Fast 2 Block Perk on Marvin. There are many characters in MultiVersus, like Wonder Woman, who use their shields a lot. This move will allow you to break through and follow it up with more attacks.

Also, if you’re wondering how to take full advantage of Wonder Woman’s tankiness, we’ve got you covered as well. Check out our How To Play Wonder Woman Guide for more.

Last, but not least, is the Pugilist perk which increases melee damage. As we discussed before, Marvin is an Assassin character. This means he also has quite a few melee moves alongside his projectiles. So if someone gets close to you, you can deal damage to them up close too!

Moveset

Next, we’ll be taking a look at the unique move set that Marvin the Martian has in MultiVersus. We’ll look at both his standard attacks and his specials (both ground and air variants).

Attacks

Marvin’s normal attacks can be a little confusing to understand for newcomers. As you’ll see he has a unique kit that can work quite well if you know how to use it. By understanding his normal moves, you’ll be able to understand how to set up combos.

With that said, here are Marvin the Martian’s normal attacks in MultiVersus:

  • Hold Right + J
    • Centurian Scoot
      • Marvin slides across the ground and hits multiple enemies with this move.
      • Works really well with the 2 Fast 2 Block Perk.

      • It does damage to opponents and can also momentarily knock them back.
      • A great move to use when enemies are swarming onto you.
      • The bubble is connected to a cooldown meter, and will pop when the meter finishes.

    • Acme Bubble Blaster (Air)
      • Same as ground attack.
  • Right + J

      • This is your main combo starter.

      • It’s a great move for combos, especially if you charge it.

      • You can shoot a projectile upwards after a brief charge attack.
      • Holding the up button allows you to direct where you want to shoot. Let go of the button to release the projectile.
      • It’s a really strong move that you’ll be using a lot to kill opponents in MultiVersus.
    • Shoot The Moon (Air)
      • Similar to ground attack, but you cannot control the direction of the projectile.
  • Down + J
    • A-1 Disintegrating Pistol (Ground)
      • You can fire a laser that deals a lot of knockback to the opponent.
      • It’s a great move to kill opponents off the side.
    • A-1 Disintegrating Pistol (Air)
      • Similar to ground but you’ll fire the laser downwards
      • You can use this move to set up a combo with your up attacks.

Combos

Now that you understand how Marvin the Martian’s move set works, you should be able to deal with the combos pretty easily. This is because understanding his moves requires a bit of time for new players to adjust to.

Here are some combos we recommend you try as Marvin in MultiVersus:

  • Down + J (Air) -> Up + J (Air)
    • A basic combo that you can utilize pretty easily when the enemy is close by or below you.
  • Right + J (Ground) -> Down + J (Ground)
    • Another basic combo that can be used to push off enemies with great knockback off the side of the stage
  • Right + J (Air) -> Neutral K -> Neutral K -> Down + K or Down + J
    • A more advanced combo that you can actually play around with by changing up the final move in the string. It can be used to deal more damage but will require some practice to be effective.

Tips and General Strategy

Starting off, you’ll want to use the first combo: Down + J (Air) -> Up + J (Air). This is the main combo that you’ll be looking to use as much as possible because of the damage it deals. You can even spam it for maximum effectiveness with Marvin in MultiVersus.

The second combo for Marvin can be used to finish opponents in the later stages of matches. It has a lot of knock back that can kill enemies off the side when they hit 100.

The combination of the first three moves in the third combo leaves you with a lot of options. These moves will force the enemy into the air. After that, you can damage them in any way you see fit, depending on if you want to punish them or kill them if it’s the later stage of the round.

While you’re using Marvin, we recommend that you try to get your spaceship in the air as much as possible with the Up + K special. You can use the rockets fired to add constant pressure on enemies that are pushing you.

At the same time, you should also use the bubble projectiles with the Neutral J move. In doing so, you can constantly push enemies off of you and fulfill your role as a zoner. Marvin’s moves can be very slow so you’ll need the extra room to pull off damage in MultiVersus.
