All New Items Explained in New DLC

The DLC has a set of 18 items that players can try out. The items have their own sets of unique abilities and buffs added to your combat. These items from the newly launched expansion come in all rarities from white all the way to yellow.

In this guide, we explain the functions of each item from each set of rarity: white, green, red, lunar, and yellow.

White Items

  • Knockback Fin
    • Stats: 25% chance on hit to knock enemies out of the air.
    • The name says “Knockback” but you’re actually being knocked up in the air instead of back.
  • Bolstering Lantern
    • You receive a 25% damage increase against targets when your health goes below 50%.
  • Antler Shield
    • With this item, you deal a portion of the damage dealt, back to the attacker. 55% (+5% per stack) chance and 10% DMG reflected.
    • The issue with this item is that it is scaled based on the damage that you take. Which in turn means that you have to take more damage in order to inflict a small or more considerable portion of it onto your attacker.
    • This is not exactly an ideal situation and this item barely does any good.
    • Additionally, there’s only a chance to activate. You are only guaranteed to activate it until you get 10 stacks of the item.
  • Chronic Expansion
    • This item provides you with 10% damage for every 5 enemies you kill.
    • The downside of this item is that it only stacks when you stay in combat.
    • This item, however, works really well with “Forgive Me Please”. With both of these used together, you can get chronic expansion stacks.
  • Warped Echo
    • Warped Echo functions by halving the damage that’s dealt to you. You’re dealt with the first half immediately after the attacker inflicts it on you and the second half after 3 seconds.
    • Keep in mind that medkits have  2 second activation time which gives you a small window to heal and potentially save yourself from taking a great deal of DMG.

Green Items

  • Noxious Thorn:
    • With this item, there’s a 25% chance that you can apply 2 stacks of “bleed” to your attacker upon getting hit.
    • If the enemy has a different debuff, it’ll just apply that debuff instead of the bleed.
  • Sale star
    • This time provides you with double the amount of loot from a chest, guaranteed on a single stack
    • Furthermore, every additional stack gives you a +5 % chance of getting another item on top of that.
    • The best thing about this item is that the additional item will match the rarity of the chest.
    • This means if you open a legendary loot box, your additional item will also be a legendary item. Thus, obtaining an extra legendary item.
    • This item is considered the best Green Item.

Tip: If you reach a stage with a guaranteed legendary chest and you have a Sale Star on you, don’t use your star for anything other than the legendary chest and instead save up.

  • Chance Doll
    • This item gives you a 20% chance to get an item with an upgraded rarity from a chance shrine.
    • This means that if you were to get a green item from the chance shrine, you get a green one instead. (+8% per additional stack of the item.)
  • Luminous Shot
    • This item gives you a 150% bonus damage on the next primary ability that you use.
  • Prayer Beads
    • Every time you level up, you get 20% of that XP as extra stats stored in the item.
    • You gain all of the stored stats when you remove the item.
    • The item has a stat counter at the bottom of the screen indicating how many levels of stats are stored in the prayer beads so far.
  • Unstable Transmitter
    • When you use this item while your health is below 25%, it teleports you to a random location and deals 350% DMG to nearby enemies.

Red Items

  • Sonorous Whispers
    • With this item, whenever you kill a boss enemy (stone titan, beetle queen, etc), you are guaranteed to obtain an extra item.
    • Additionally, there’s a 15% chance of Elites dropping an extra item.
    • This item works with the Clover. If you have the clover equipped along with Sonorpus Whispers, you’ll end up obtaining a lot of free items.
  • Growth Nectar
    • The growth nectar provides you with a 20% increase in all of your stats (health, armor, speed, crit chance, damage, attack speed, and more) for 5 seconds.
    • +20% for each stack of the item.
    • The stats are not added, rather they are multiplied. So all of your stats are multiplied by 1.2 times.
    • The catch is that you need 5 buffs on your character to activate this item. (The bar above your HP is your buffs bar.)
  • Electric Boomerang
    • This item stuns your enemy.
  • Runic Lens
    • This item has a 5% chance to fire a meteor that does 2000% damage when you use a hard-hitting attack.
    • The stronger your attack is, the more chances of activating this this item.
  • War Bonds
    • This item gives you 75 gold at the start of the stage and scales as the difficulty and level of your player increases.

Lunar Items

  • Longstanding Solitude
    • This item will convert all of your gold gains into XP.
    • Additionally, you gain a single item every time you level up.

Boss Item (Yellow)

  • Seed of Life
    • This item is more of an equipment rather than a “boss item”
    • To put it simply, this equipment provides you with an extra life.
    • The item is consumed when you use it.
    • You’ll find it sitting in your equipment slot.

And those are all items in the New DLC. Every item can be of use to you in some aspect, it all comes down to your playing style. Be sure to use them when fighting enemies, elites, and bosses, and allow them to be your biggest assist in finding and fighting the False Son Boss.
