In this guide, I’ll show you how you can give water to your cows in Farming Simulator 25. You know, because cows can’t just drink water from a straw like us—no, they need us to manually deliver their life-giving liquid in true farming style. So, grab your barrels, avoid cows getting upset due to thirst, and let’s get them hydrated!
How To Give Water to Cows
So, when you start the game, you’ll have a few cows on your farm. To check how much water they need, just look for the water symbol on their enclosure (pen). You can also see their water levels in the top-right corner.
Next up, you’ll need a special tool to water them. Head over to the ‘Animals’ tab and look for the ‘Barrel’—the one with a water droplet icon. That’s the one you’ll need. Any barrel with that icon can hold water, so grab whatever you can afford!
Here’s the tricky part: You’ve got to get really close to the cows (on the water drop icon) to water them. Just get nice and tight next to them, but don’t go too far! Once you’re close enough, you’ll see ‘Start Overloading’ pop up on the left. Now, press ‘I’ to start filling the tank.
You’ll see the water draining out of the barrel, and once it’s full, there’s a nice splash on the right side. Your cows are all set now with fresh water! But to sum things up from my guide, there are two main ways to get water for your farm: a paid method and a free method.
- Free Method (Body of Water): Avoid spending by filling your water tank at any body of water, like a river or lake. Simply drive up and refill for free.
- Paid Method (Water Silo): Purchase a water tank and tractor, then fill the tank at a water silo, available on most maps. This method costs money every time you refill.
Wondering how much water the barrel holds? You can always check it. Oh, and as you earn more money in the game, you can unlock barns with automated water systems. So eventually, you won’t need to do this by hand!
One last tip: If you want to make watering even easier, grab a Water Windmill. To find it, go to the ‘Construction’ menu, then ‘Sheds,’ and look under ‘Containers.’ Place it down, and when you drive up to it, you can load water into it forever. No more running around with barrels!
