The Warrior is one of the powerhouse classes in Rune Slayer. If you love smashing enemies with brute force while shrugging off damage like it’s nothing, this class is for you. As expected from a Warrior archetype, this one excels in dealing heavy damage, absorbing a ton of punishment, and standing tall as the frontline tank in any party.
However, your playstyle can shift depending on how you build your character. That said, I’ll show you the best Warrior build you can play in the game and how you can obtain the gear you need to make it work!
Best Warrior Build Guide & How To Get Items
To get started, you want to pick a race that complements a Warrior playstyle. Here’s a rundown of the best options:
- Humans – Get a massive damage and damage reduction boost when dropping below 50% HP, making them one of the strongest choices for survivability and late-game tanking.
- Orcs – Come with built-in health regeneration, which can be a lifesaver in prolonged fights.
- Elves – Offer reduced ability cooldowns, increased speed, and higher focus, making them great for a more agile Warrior playstyle.
- Half-Golems – Have crazy-high damage reduction, making them the ultimate tanks that can soak up hits like a fortress.
Pick the one that best matches your preferred playstyle—whether that’s pure tanking, sustain, or a mix of speed and power.
Best Warrior Abilities to Use
Once you’ve chosen your race, it’s time to build your Warrior’s toolkit. Here are the must-have abilities:
- I highly recommend using Aegis Battle Aura, which is essentially an ability that allows you to activate a shield that absorbs damage for 10 seconds.
- Since Warriors are all about damage reduction, stacking this with high armor makes you nearly unbreakable.
Aside from Aegis Battle Aura, you also want to pick Counter, Mortal Strike, and Hindsight Slash.

Best Armor to Equip
Now let’s talk about gear, because what’s a Warrior without solid armor?
Chest Piece
- Best: Turtle Shell – 1000 Armor, 28 Strength, 10% Crit Defense, 10% Magic Resistance. Dropped by Lycanthar, the second boss in the Colosseum.
- Alternative: Crab Carapace – 950 Armor, 12 Strength, 12 Spirit, 3 Stamina, but reduces Speed Boost by 5%. Farmable from Mud Crabs.

Boots
For the boots, you want to equip War Troll Boots which grants 425 Armor, 11 Strength, and 4 Stamina. You can craft it using 2x Troll Hide from Hill Trolls and 2x Platinum Bar which you can smelt using Platinum Ores.

Helmet
- As for your helmet, the best gear would be Hodor’s War Helmet which grants 542 Armor, 18 Strength, 4 Stamina, and 1% Crit Chance. You can obtain it by completing the Head Hunter II quest which refreshes every hour.
- Do take note that the helmet is not a guaranteed reward, so you’ll have to keep on grinding the same quest until you obtain it.
- Alternatively, you can use War Troll’s Helmet which grants 425 Armor, 17 Strength, and 4 Stamina. Same as the War Troll Boots, you can craft it using 2x Troll Hide and 2x Platinum Bar.
Cape & Rings
Then for the cape, you’ll want to use Champion’s Cape which grants 35 Armor, 12 Strength, and 4 Spirit. You can obtain it by defeating the Goblin Champion boss inside the Goblin Caves.
Rings are up to personal preference, but my top recommendations include:
- Ring of Vitality
- Piercing Band
- Philosopher’s Ring
- Shield God’s Ring

Best Weapon to Use
A Warrior isn’t complete without a massive sword to swing. Greatswords are the way to go.
- Best: Sand Shooter Greatsword – 18 Physical Damage, 16 Strength, 4 Stamina (Level 40 requirement). Dropped by Lycanthar in the Colosseum.
- Alternative: Demonic Greatsword – 12 Physical Damage, 3 Fire Damage, 13 Strength, 2 Stamina. Crafted using:
- 2x Demon Claw (drops from Imps)
- 4x Demon Hide (drops from Imps)
- 4x Platinum Bar
- 2x Thick Leather (drops from Beastmen)
Wrap-Up
Building a Warrior in Rune Slayer is straightforward: stack armor, grab the hardest-hitting sword, and charge headfirst into battle. Whether you prefer tanking, dealing damage, or a mix of both, this build will have you covered!
