Point and click adventure games have always been around since the early days of video games. Their start was much rougher though with the start of the “Point and Click Adventure Game logic” trope where certain puzzles in the old games just didn’t make any sense. The old Sierra adventure games was especially egregious with this. These days though point and click adventure games have stuck around and is still a large part of gaming, the release of Return to Monkey Island shows this, and in this guide, we’ll show you how to get the Free Wally Achievement.
Free Wally Achievement Guide For Return to Monkey Island
These genres of games have a long history of being brutal when it comes to players missing out certain elements in the game. This is still true with the recent Return to Monkey Island and with this achievement.
If you miss a part of this guide then there’s a big chance you won’t get it right, so keep that in mind and follow along carefully.
In part 2 when you’re on the ship use the magnifying glass to get a series of tiny numbers on the part of the ship shown with the image above. This will give you an item that has serial number on it.
Later in Part 4, go to the locksmith and give her the serial number so you can make a key. Again, each step is important and you can’t miss them!
Finally at part 5 use the key you’ve made in part 4 to unlock the shackles and save Wally!
Congratulations you now know how to free Wally in Return to Monkey Island! Now go out there and free Wally yourself, don’t let him hanging!
