Is God Of War Ragnarok Misleading Us With Its Trailers/Marketing?

God of War is showing us trailers with some very old footage. There isn’t anything new being shown to us that we should know. Is this the same tactic as The Last of Us used to show us that we will be playing one game, and then we completely ended up playing with another? Let’s discuss about it a little bit.

God Of War Ragnarok – Misleading Us With It’s Trailers/Marketing?

God of War Ragnarok is hiding something massive beneath its surface. The game is as it is right now, and the developers have said, that we are only able to know something about the first  5 hours of the game.

Now was this 5-hour mark number given just arbitrarily or something will happen at this point of the game that will change things entirely? Players are actually astonished because of how well the game trailers were made, especially since they are from the in-game engine without spoiling too much.

There will be probably a lot of things happening in this game. Probably leaving the Norse mythology and exploring something different, but the thing is, just like The Last Of Us was showing something entirely else in their trailers, maybe that’s what’s happening here too.

It is debatable do we get to kill Kratos or Freya, what’s Odin’s purpose in this game, and so on. We do not think that there will be some sort of very big switch just like in the Last of Us happened. We won’t spoil anything but God of War doesn’t feel like it is going into the same scenario.

Maybe this 5-hour mark is just a simple stop so that the players aren’t able to review or spoil anything happening after. Maybe it won’t be anything big at all. Something like what happened with Ghostwire Tokyo.

There is no doubt that Atreus will be playable though, but does that mean that there will be the death of the main character? We surely hope not. But it is very likely that we will get to control Atreus in this game.

They might be following the concept with The Last of Us, where the same thing happened too, so that is making our doubts confirmed too.

So maybe that is what is being hidden from us with the Trailers? Maybe in the 5-hour mark is when we become and start controlling Atreus. It is a very big possibility and something that is also very highly to happen. Now, we are able t control Atreus because of Kratos’s death or not is a very different topic.

This game will be very long there is no doubt about that, so mauve those 5 hours do not really affect anything at all. But will there be shocking things that will shock us to our core? – Definitely yes. Maybe even some characters dying off or something similar.

So we are certain that those 5 hours will be an absolute blast. But still, it is very interesting that the developers, Sony, have gone over their way and not allowed anything to be shown. We know the couple pillars in the game, but we do not know anything in the middle.

So if it is just a 5-hour mark for giving us little time to preview it, or maybe something will happen that will change the game entirely, it is just left to us to be patient and find out.

That’s everything you needed to know about the Trailers and the Marketing of God of War. We just have to be patient and we will be sure that this game will manage to leave us speechless just like the previous one did.
