Best 5 Scout Builds In Deep Rock Galactic
The Scout is a class in Deep Rock Galactic that is all about mobility and supporting the team. They’re there to scout ahead, thus the name, as well as go to hard to reach places in caves using his grappling hook. He also has the strongest flares in the game which helps a lot when you need visual on a large room. Here are some great scout builds that you can go for.
Deepcore GK2 Overclocked Firing Mechanism + Jury-Rigged Boomstick Stuffed Shells
Deepcore GK2 Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – Supercharged Firing Mechanism
- Tier 2 – Expanded Ammo Bags
- Tier 3 – High Capacity Magazine
- Tier 4 – Hollow-Point Bullets
- Tier 5 – Stun
- Overclock: Overclocked Firing Mechanism
Jury-Rigged Boomstick Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
- Tier 2 – Quickfire Ejector
- Tier 3 – High Capacity Shells
- Tier 4 – Super Blowthrough Rounds
- Tier 5 – White Phosphorous Shells
- Overclock: Stuffed Shells
A great and general build for anyone to use. The Overclocked Firing Mechanism doesn’t really increase the recoil that much and after a second the rifle’s recoil will be manageable. Use the GK2 for medium and long range and use the Boomstick for short range shooting!
Deepcore GK2 AI Stability Engine + Nishanka Boltshark X-80 Bodkin Points
Deepcore GK2 Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – Supercharged Firing Mechanism
- Tier 2 – Increased Caliber Rounds
- Tier 3 – High Capacity Magazine
- Tier 4 – Hollow-Point Bullets
- Tier 5 – Stun
- Overclock: AI Stability Engine
Nishanka Boltshark X-80 Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – Special Bolt: Pheromone Dart
- Tier 2 – Broadhead Bolts
- Tier 3 – Stabilizing Arm Brace
- Tier 4 – Battle Frenzy
- Tier 5 – Potent Special Bolts
- Overclock: Bodkin Points
Just like the previous build but this time we’re switching the Boomstick for the Crossbow. The AI Stability Engine makes it so the GK2 has minimal spread and recoil but less damage and rate of fire. We’ll be using the upgrades to offset the reduction of the overclock.
For the Crossbow this will cover the short range potential of the build. Bodkin Points makes it so when you hit an enemy the bolt will hit 2 other enemies, great for clearing enemies at close range as well as one-shotting grunts with the proper upgrades!
M1000 Classic Active Stability System + Zhukov NUK17 Minimal Clips
M1000 Classic Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
- Tier 2 – Hardened Rounds
- Tier 3 – Extended Clip
- Tier 4 – Super Blowthrough Rounds
- Tier 5 – Hitting Where it Hurts
- Overclock: Active Stability System
Zhukov NUK17 Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
- Tier 2 – Quickfire Ejector
- Tier 3 – Better Weight Balance
- Tier 4 – Expanded Ammo Bags
- Tier 5 – Conductive Bullets
- Overclock: Minimal Magazines
Same idea as the previous build, long range primary and short range secondary. The Overclock on the M1000 gives you faster focus speed but slower reload speed, which is fine since you can animation cancel the reload with your pickaxe and return to the normal time of reload.
The build for the Zhukov is for throwing as much lead down range as possible. Reload speed and fire rate makes this gun eat through a lot of ammo and a lot of bugs!
DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine Thermal Exhaust Feedback + Jury-Rigged Boomstick Shaped Shells
DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – High-Volume Plasma Feed
- Tier 2 – Larger Battery
- Tier 3 – Gen 2 Cooling System
- Tier 4 – Overcharged PCF
- Tier 5 – Thermal Feedback Loop
- Overclock: Thermal Exhaust Feedback
Jury-Rigged Boomstick Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – Expanded Ammo Bags
- Tier 2 – Quickfire Ejector
- Tier 3 – High Capacity Shells
- Tier 4 – Super Blowthrough Rounds
- Tier 5 – White Phosphorous Shells
- Overclock: Shaped Shells
The build for the DRAK is to maximize the fire damage as much as possible. You will have some problem with cooling the gun down but that’s why you have your secondary and your grappling hook to get out of sticky situations. The shotgun with the shaped shells overclock will make it so you can shoot at longer ranges if need be.
DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine Thermal Liquid Coolant + Nishanka Boltshark X-80 Trifork Volley
DRAK-25 Plasma Carbine Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – Improved Thermals
- Tier 2 – Larger Battery
- Tier 3 – Gen 2 Cooling System
- Tier 4 – Overcharged PCF
- Tier 5 – Thermal Feedback Loop
- Overclock: Thermal Liquid Coolant
Nishanka Boltshark X-80 Upgrades:
- Tier 1 – Special Bolt: Taser
- Tier 2 – Increased Quiver Capacity
- Tier 3 – Stabilizing Arm Brace
- Tier 4 – Battle Frenzy
- Tier 5 – Magnetic Shafts
- Overclock: Trifork Volley
For this DRAK build it’ll have the Thermal Liquid Coolant overclock so that you can cool the gun faster and get back to firing. With the upgrades it basically makes it into a plasma assault rifle that you can fire for long periods of time.
The Trifok Volley for the Crossbow is there to do the main damage with a lot of additional damage upgrades as well as ammo capacity.
