Everything You NEED To Know About Combat – Darktide: Warhammer

Stats

There are a couple of stats that you will need to look out for when playing through the very difficult runs and dungeons in Darktide. There is so much more than the usual HP bar that you see at the bottom of the screen. The most important ones are toughness, corruption, and coherency.

Corruption

Corruption is the purple overlay over your HP bar when you get damaged a lot or are downed multiple times in a row. The corruption basically works in a way that it prevents your healing past a certain point.

This is a measure put in the game so you won’t be always on the same stats and HP as you started the game out fresh. The only way to be healed past those purple bars is by going to a MediCare Station.

Toughness

Before you die the enemies need to get past your toughness. If you’ve played games like Borderlands for example, it works the same here.

Toughness is basically a regenerating shield around you. Before the HP bar gets damaged you will have a shield that will protect you from attacks.

There are many factors that will affect how fast you will regenerate your shield or how big it will actually be.

Coherency

Coherency is basically a buff that you will get when you are near your allies. All the buffs that you spread out from being together will result in all of you getting stat increases or coherency.

The more allies you are close to, the more coherency you will have. It can be stacked up to a maximum of 4. All of the talents that your companions might have, will add up to the coherency bonuses that you will get.

Suppression

This game has a suppression system. When you are under fire for a longer period of time, your character will be suppressed. This means that it will be slowed down and your accuracy will become worse and worse.

That is why you’ll need to take cover every once in a while. This also works on your enemies. You can suppress them while a companion rushes them with a melee weapon.

Is There Friendly Fire?

Yes, there is. The thing is that you can only do friendly damage to them with ranged attacks. So if you want to not hit them and they are close, switch to melee attacks.

Enemy Types

There are the typical types of enemies in Darktide. You will get high HP tanks, fast squishy but high DPS dealing rushers, ranged snipers, and explosion type of enemies, there are enemies that will hide behind covers and try to ambush you.

That’s all that you need to know about the Combat in Darktide. We hope that this guide has helped you out and made you a better Warhammer fighter. A big thank you to the YouTube user by the name of Realm Space Gaming. Check them out here for more details.
