The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a new open-world game. What’s interesting about this is that it can now also support playing in multiplayer. Imagine how fun it would be if you go running around and found shiny Pokemon with your friends.
In order to be in a multiplayer scene, simply go to the Poke Portal from the Main Menu. You can either host a group or join a group.
You create a group by choosing Form a group in the Union Circle. While joining a group only requires you to know the Link Code of the group you want to join.
But remember, it is way better if the host of the group has a stable internet connection. That way, the game will run smoothly.
Multiplayer Guide to Increase Your Battle Skills in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
What’s amazing about playing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is that you can join each other’s world even if you are from the other versions either Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet.
Even though you cannot help each other in doing your missions in multiplayer, there are still lots of things that can help you in increasing your battle skills while in multiplayer.
In this guide, we list out things that you can do to improve your battle skills.
Take Advantage of Each Other’s World
Since you can join the opposite version of the game you are in, you can actually use this to catch different types of Pokemon.
In case you still don’t know, there are exclusive Pokemon for both the Scarlet and Violet versions. When you are in each other’s version of the game, you can still actually catch a Pokemon that’s not exclusive to your game version.
In simple terms, a player from Pokemon Scarlet can catch a Pokemon Violet exclusive one, and vice versa.
Through this, you will have a wider pool of Pokemon choices to obtain. That is why it is recommended to let a player from the opposite version join your group.
Proximity with Each Other
One thing that might concern you is your proximity to the host of the group. But to tell you, this open-world game gives you the freedom to do anything that you have to do regardless of your distance from the host.
That means that you can do and run your errands even though you are not with the host of the game. You can both mind your own businesses and go on with your own story.
Bring Different Sandwiches with You
Sandwiches give you a boost in encountering certain types of Pokemon as you travel. So, if you are included in a party and you both want to find different Pokemon of different types, it is better if you both consume different kinds of sandwiches.
If you, for example, consumed an Avocado Sandwich that increases the encounter chance with electric types of Pokemon, this will not be shared with your friend. But your party member will also benefit from this if they keep you company.
That being said, consuming different sandwiches and sticking with each other increases the chance of encountering specific types of Pokemon as you go on.
Tera Raid Battle
Based on the previous Raid Battles from the older versions, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet now feature Tera Raid Battles.
If you are the host of the group, you cannot interact with the Tera Raid Battle dens or the giant crystals you can see to start a Tera Raid Battle. All you can do is wait for the host to start a Tera Raid Battle and join them if you want.
Once the host started it, you will receive a pop-up notification and you can join it immediately regardless of where you are on the map. After the battle, you will be returned to the spot where you are before the battle.
Regardless of your game progress, if the host is way ahead of you in terms of the story progress, you can also encounter the same Tera Raids as them.
In simple words, given that you are a new player and you joined a host who is ahead of you in the story, you will still be able to join the Tera Raid Battle even if it is an end-game encounter.
Battle with Your Friends
While you are in your friend’s world, you can also join a battle. When the team and the rules are set up, you will get teleported to the School Yard and will start the battle.
Once the battle is over, you will be returned to your last location before the battle begins.
Breed Pokemon with Friends
Yes, you read it right. You can also breed Pokemon with your friends. All you have to do is to get egg power level one.
Once you both got this, either of you should start a picnic and the other one should join. When this happens, they will start producing eggs so you better check inside the basket and you will see there the eggs.
What’s nice about this is that the basket can stack up to 10 eggs.
