Metroid Prime back then was already known for pushing the boundaries of technology, given the limitations that consoles had twenty years ago. All that goes away however as you can now relive your bounty-hunting days in glorious high definition!

The only thing that never really went away is Samus’ unique ability to keep losing the upgrades you earn for her, like the Spider Ball.

How To Get The Spider Ball | Spider Ball Location | Metroid Prime Remastered

Getting the Spider Ball is an integral part of your journey as you will be using that power-up a lot when you start backtracking to the Chozo Ruins.

Luckily, obtaining this item is pretty straightforward as you only need to ask for it nicely, with a little bit of shooting involved.

To get the Spider Ball, you must go through Thardus first in the Quarantine Cave.

This can get annoying especially when you’re caught frozen while in the middle of dodging his rush attacks. To keep the fight going you can destroy the rocks Thardus sends your way as these contain ammo and energy.

Remember to use your Thermal Visor to check on Thardus’ weak spots as they change regularly. It will glow red on your visor, once detected fire at it using a Super Missile for maximum effectiveness.

You can also wait for the beast to curl into a ball, this is the part where you start laying bombs as those are powerful enough to destroy a weak spot.

Keep doing this until you drain his health bar and he will eventually crumble.

Once the cutscene finishes just simply walk up to the upgrade and test it out on the railing behind. That’s how you get the Spider Ball, now go assume the shape and try it for yourself in that order!
