Limbus Company – All Game Mechanics Explained

There are a lot of them!

Learning new game mechanics for a new game can be challenging especially if it’s a genre that you’re not used to playing. A person who usually plays RTS games might get some problems learning FPS games and so on.

In the genre of Gacha games, this can happen as well since there are so many different Gacha games out there. Games like Genshin Impact are quite different from Azure Lane and so on.

Limbus Company is a new game in the genre and it is a game that can get a bit more complex than your average Gacha game. So in this guide, we’ll show you how the game mechanics work in the game.

All Game Mechanics Explained | Limbus Company

Limbus Company is a game made by the same guys that made Lobotomy Corporation and if you’ve played that game you can tell that this one is closely knit to their first game.

The game can be quite daunting for someone who just came back from other Gacha games because Limbus Company is a bit complex. Here are some explanations of the different mechanics of the game.

Characters and Identities and EGOs

Limbus Company is a Gacha game, so you would expect it to have at least a hundred characters you can roll the Gacha for, well that’s not really the case.

There are only 12 characters in the game, and you’re stuck with them.

The difference comes with Identities, and these are basically different character skins that have different skills and passives. So each character can have multiple different play styles, strengths, and weaknesses.

There’s one thing that all Identities share though and that’s an E.G.O. which are basically ultimate skills and abilities that you can use in Combat.

Combat and Abnormalities

Combat is where most of the complexity in the game is. It’s not as simple as hitting things hard since there are affinities, damage types, and such to worry about.

In our Combat Guide, we go through it with more detail but it basically boils down to chaining the right attacks, placing the RNG in your favor, and gaining enough colors to use EGOs.

Abnormalities are unique to normal enemies in the game because they have different body parts and such. In our guide on Abnormalities we go through how they work in more detail but they’re basically a bunch of enemies grouped into one mega enemy, multiple health bars and abilities and all.

That’s all the mechanics you need to know to play through Limbus Company, I’ve explained it in a more casual way for the layman and simplified terms for you. Now go out there and try the game out!
