The Last of Us Part 1: d3d_feature_level_12_0 Fix

Trust me, I’m an engineer.

There are times when you just don’t know what your computer is asking from you anymore, especially when it comes to dealing with the increasing demands of games that were initially made for consoles. You would expect that these titles would have little to no issue when running on your machine, but The Last of Us Part 1 would beg to differ, given how well done the port is.

Some players are even experiencing obscure errors like the one you just read from the title, is that even English at this point? We don’t know, but what we do know is that there’s a workaround for it!

Some players have mentioned that updating the drivers for your graphics card was enough to solve the issue, who would’ve thought something that simple would work?

You can try that first while making sure that there aren’t any previous versions present that will get in the way of what you’re installing. If that isn’t enough to fix the problem here’s what you can do.

Check your system requirements as well, yes it might be tiring to hear that you’re hardware isn’t good enough to run the game but that’s just how increasingly demanding Triple-A titles are.

Another solution would be to restart your PC after you’ve done all the previous steps to apply the changes you’ve made.

As the game is currently getting a wave of negative reviews on Steam, it would be wise to wait for a future update that will eventually become available if Naughty Dog ever entertains the idea of actually attracting a wider audience for the PC.
