Meet Your Maker is quite possibly one of the coolest games for creativity in the history of gaming. The concept is basically, you are in a post-apocalyptic world, and you are raiding these bases to gather loot and other items.
The cool thing about this game is that these bases are all made by other players. Yes, you can even create your own base for other players to raid. It’s essentially a gorier and bloodier version of Super Mario Maker.
In this beginner’s guide, we will show you how to play better when raiding other players’ bases.
Beginner’s Guide – Meet Your Maker
Things You Need To Know
This game is fun, but be careful, because that fun can be sucked dry if you get hit once. Why is that? Because you will die in one hit. Remember that this is a game where you are raiding a base full of traps and enemies who are out to kill you.
Assume every corner of the base you are raiding is out to kill you. Paranoia is great because you will need to be 100% on your toes the whole time.
The best way to go around a base is to check every hallway for traps. Assume every block is out to kill you because they are. The base of the player you are raiding has most likely set a trap in every hallway, every corner, on every block. Do not assume you are safe at all times, you need to be fast when moving through these bases if you want to live.
The enemies you will be facing are not just the minions of the base, but also the traps. They are not just decorations you can leave alone when you see them. They can also be destroyed, so do so whenever you see a trap. Otherwise, you will be running around a base forever if you keep dying and going back in, forgetting that you left a trap still running.
When you destroy those traps with ranged weapons, be careful when retrieving your ammo. Meet Your Maker doesn’t offer a lot of gunfire, so you will most likely be using crossbows or other weapons that are similar to that.
So when you shoot your weapon and you have to retrieve it, be very careful. Because you might just trigger another trap.
The grappling hook is your best friend, but don’t rely too much on it. I say that because you can get yourself into more deadly situations if you use it willy-nilly. Sure, it’s helpful when you need to get around the base faster, but you also end up activating traps that much quicker.
It’s important to save your grapple hook for when you really need it, like when you need to climb up somewhere or need a quick escape.
This is why you should also go in the base slowly. Not too slow where you’re playing Ready Or Not, but slow enough to where you are checking every corner and wall, making sure that they won’t kill you if you step in their line of sight. Going slow is especially crucial when getting out because there are more traps that can be activated when you make your return.
