Sometimes you ask yourself “Why do I even fly around in circles only to listen to some nihilist’s dialog about how hopeless everything is?” Well to answer that question, the sites around the Burning Shores are quite nice to look at, regardless if they’re a total wreck or not.

That’s what the Capture Locations are for anyway, to show you the old world that everyone used to live in before machines took over, and of course to get the “Recovered ALL Aerial Captures” trophy. But if you don’t have enough time to listen for beeps and boops around the map as you’re flying about then check out this Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores guide to know where you need to go as the crow flies.

Every location will send out an unidentified signal your way if you fly close enough to where the black box is located. You know, those things that get slapped on to aircraft in case of an emergency? Once you interact with one of these things, you’ll start seeing a flight path that you need to follow all the way to the end to get the Aerial Capture. There’s a total of six that you need to collect.

Aerial Capture 1: East

You can find the transmitter directly below. Once you interact with it, it will create a waypoint where you must follow the beginning of a flight path. The end of the path will always have some dialog waiting along with the Aerial Capture of the general vicinity.

Aerial Capture 2: Northeast

Head further east once you interact with the black box in this area to begin the flight path.

Aerial Capture 3: North

Follow the trail past the Devotee Outpost, the black box will be sitting on top of the cliff along with the flight path that you need to follow.

Aerial Capture 4: Northwest

This one’s blocked off, but your Waterwing doesn’t care about trivial matters like that so punch a hole through the wall instead to gain access inside. The path will show up right outside of the hole you just made.

Aerial Capture 5: West

You will have to defeat the Stormbird up in the clouds first before you get the Aerial Capture for this location. A little bit of dogfighting never hurt anyone so go do just that and loot the bird after you’re done.

Land on the island and interact with the metal door to find the transmitter inside. The trail will start near the shore where the campfire is.

Aerial Capture 6: South

Collect the first five before proceeding to this location, and this aerial capture will be automatically marked on the map for you. Make sure to do a manual save first as some players have been complaining about the starting points not appearing in their game. Other than that you’re free to tour the rest of the island at your leisure, whatever’s left of it at least.

Conclusion

Finding all the Aerial Capture locations in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience. It not only helps you collect the “Recovered ALL Aerial Captures” trophy but also allows you to explore the remnants of the old world and enjoy the scenic views. So, gear up and take to the skies to discover the secrets of the Burning Shores!

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
