There’s not a lot of MMORPGs out there that can boast about still being strong at this point. With the downward trend of the genre only the greats like World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy 14 are left standing. There are more MMOs out there and one of them is Runescape 3, a sequel to the ever-standing Old School Runescape.
In this guide we’ll show you how to do the Unwelcome Guests quest step by step. We’ll also show you what you need for to make that Guardhouse up to Tier 3 in the game. So, let’s get started!
Unwelcome Guests & Tier 3 Guardhouse Quest Guide
In Runescape 3 you’ll get to a point where you’re helping out in Fort Forinthry. The fort can have a lot of different buildings that you’ll need to make and each one of them has a quest attached to it.
As you can tell from the article title the Unwelcome Guests quest is for the Guardhouse. Let’s get that guardhouse built for the fort!
Requirements
Before you even go and start this quest, you’ll first need to know the requirements for the quest. We’ll also add in the materials you need to complete the quest.
- Murder On The Border Quest Completed
- Level 50 Construction Skill
- Level 10 Slayer Skill
- 14 x Teak Frame
- 6 x Stone Wall Segment
- Some Armor and a Weapon
- Food for Healing

- Tier 2
- Level 77 Construction
- 20 x Teak Frame
- 6 x Stone Wall Segments
- Tier 3
- Level 97 Construction
- 20 x Mahogany Frame
- 6 x Stone Wall Segments
Quest Steps
Now that we have all the necessary items and materials as well as the levels and quests, we can start. To make things a bit easier we’ve made the quest guide step-by-step so you can easily see where you are in the quest progression. Here are the steps you need to take to finish the quest:
- Go to Fort Forinthry and talk to Overseer Siv and select Option 2 for Unwelcome Guests.
- Then go outside and head west to talk to the Raptor NPC.
- Afterwards go to the gate in the northwestern corner of the fort.
- Interact with the gate and select Option 1: “Yes.”
- Go to the west and kill 10 Fetid Zombies.
- Once you’re back in the fort go speak to The Raptor again.
- Go to the northwest and talk to Bill, select Option 1 to talk about Unwelcome Guests.
- Go to the northwestern gate again and interact with it, select Option 1.
- Go to the west wall and you’ll find “Building supplies” at the base. Interact with them to build defenses. There’s 3 on the west wall, 2 on the north wall and 1 on the east wall.
- Go back and talk to Overseer Siv, pick Option 2 for Unwelcome Guests.
- Go back to Bill and select Option 1 to talk about Unwelcome Guests.
- Build the Guardhouse Tier 1 with the workshop near Bill and start building it to the left of the southern gate entrance.
- Once the Guardhouse is done talk to The Raptor and a cutscene will play.
- Go to the northwestern gate again and select Option 1, go to the west and kill 10 Fetid Zombies again. A cutscene will play afterwards.
- Talk to The Raptor again and the quest is complete!
Upgrading the Guardhouse
To upgrade the guardhouse to higher tiers you’ll need to go back to the table where you check the plans for the Forts Blueprints. There you’ll need to select the Guardhouse Tier 2 building and later the Tier 3 after you’ve done Tier 2.
Once you’ve started the blueprint you’ll then just have to go back to the guardhouse and start building it like normal. The materials you’ll need is listed at the first part of the article for those who missed it.
