After finding a corpse in Alan Wake 2, now you have to examine Nightingale’s body in the game. We’re going to learn about what caused his death and learn anything we can about the case to solve it. We’ll show you how to examine Nightingale and learn about the Mind Place to arrange the facts.
Examine Nightingale’s Body
Alan Wake 2 introduces a similar mechanism to Alan Wake 1’s Writer’s Room, which is the Mind Place.
Examining Nightingale’s body is easy: physically, you simply have to approach the body and click on indicated spots on the body. Once you do, you now have several facts to arrange in your mind.
Now, in your Mind Place, pull out the Murder at Cauldron Lake case file onto the board. It’ll start a string for “Anything to learn from the body?” category.
Using any of the facts in your hand now on this category will pull a new sub-category. They’re going to be either the “Cause of Death” or “Ritual Writing.”
And now it’s only a matter of classifying your findings in those two sub-categories:
- “Smudged text under victim’s skin” and “Illegible words on heart” go under “Ritual Writing”
- “Chest ripped open,” “Bruises,” and “Bloating” go under “Cause of Death”
Once you do, leave the Mind Place and you’ll find a new interaction on the body. Inspect it one final time and finish the mission.
And that’s how you can “Examine Nightingale’s Body” in Alan Wake 2!
