Arcane Odyssey: How to Solo the Dark Sea

Looking for a way to survive the challenges of the Dark Seas?

Arcane Odyssey: How to Solo the Dark Sea

In Arcane Odyssey, you’ll explore each and every single area you can find in the War Seas. As you do this, you can team up with other players or go on your own in your journey and obtain different items. From weapons, fighting styles and many other items, the number of things you can collect is endless.

After you have explored the War Seas, you can go beyond the region and discover the Dark Sea. These are areas clouded in thick fog, with unpredictable and lethal weather patterns. This means that you’ll want to be well-prepared. In this guide, we will show you some tips on soloing the Dark Sea.

How to Solo the Dark Sea

The challenges you face in the Dark Sea are difficult. However, the rewards are also extremely good and useful. Ships with low Stability stats would take constant damage here, meaning it’s required to have a good ship to enter.

Ship Loadout

For your ship loadout, you’ll ideally want to have high stability, durability and resilience stats. You can choose to go with the Reinforced Brig ship, which you will eventually unlock as you progress.

Other than that, some items you should equip for your ship are the:

  • Strong Bronze Framing
  • Swift Cotton Sail Cloth
  • Redwake Warriors crew
  • Edward Kenton (Elm Island)
  • Amplified Bronze Culverins

Once you have all of these items equipped, you can have up to 100% Stability, 70% Resilience and a potentially high number of Durability. This will help your ship survive against the effects that you may encounter as you go deeper into the Dark Sea.

Cargo Repairing

It is recommended for you to put Cargo on your ship. Having Cargo on your ship will allow you to repair it. Cargo usage is straightforward – speak to your deckhand, move around your ship, and repair it using the cargo.

Keep it in mind that villains can get free cargo while heroes have to pay for cargo. However, whether your cargo is paid or stolen, they will give you the same amount of HP.

One cargo crate will give you 400 HP. This means that if you use 5 of these crates, you can regenerate up to 2,000 HP.

If you select half as much as possible, the game system will calculate how much you need for full HP then it will use half the number of cargoes to help you reach that amount.

Graphics

For your Graphics Quality settings, you’ll generally want it to be around 7. At 10 Graphics, the Dark Sea’s effects will become less visible for you.

Having your settings at the right graphics number will allow you to notice any effects that may appear as you go deeper into the Dark Sea.

Dark Sea Compass

An item that helps you navigate yourself in the Dark Sea is the Dark Sea Compass. There are many ways for you to get this item, either on ships you find or in underwater ruins.

Some Extra Tips / Strategy

When you’re about to hit a wave, hold G. This will allow you to basically nullify almost all of the damage from the waves. On your compass, you’ll want the right side of the compass to face in front of you.

Since you are in Stage 0, you’re not facing any adverse environmental effects yet. Just keep going that way until you reach the first Insanity Range, which is the Stage 1 of the Dark Sea.

Arcane Odyssey The Plan

There is also a feature called the Bathe feature which you can find inside of your ship. This will allow you to nullify the effects of the poisonous waters or rainwaters of the Dark Sea.

You won’t have to worry about this early on since it only starts to exist in the first insanity stage.

In the dark sea, you’ll encounter ruined shipwrecks with no enemies but also no chests. Look for openings in the walls or structures, as these usually contain loot. Large islands can be time-consuming to explore, so it’s often best to avoid them.

Arcane Odyssey Item

Always pay attention to nearby waterfalls since you can actually climb up top and head into the cave.

Inside, you may be able to find crates which will give you a lot of loot as you collect them. These have a high chance of having crates spawned inside, so do not skip them.

Dodge Reflexes

Another useful skill you want to get is the Dodge Reflex ability. A Dodge Reflex is a dodge technique that allows the user to dodge in the air and go further than a regular dodge.

The distance scales with level, as well as whatever power is being used. You can get this by completing a bounty quest in Whitesummit by talking to Rill Hendrix.

As you explore, keep it in mind that it will cost you at least 100 Stamina. Make sure you manage your stamina bar efficiently, since you do not want to drown as you dash in the Dark Sea.

Ghost Ships

Ghost ships are shiny, golden ships that you can find as you travel in the Dark Sea. These ships will generally point you towards Cargo.

If your ship ever runs low on health and you’re out of cargo to repair your ship, it’s best for you to follow the direction of these Ghost Ships.

Range 1 Method

Once you are in the Range 1 area, you will be able to see a purple eye icon with the number 1 next to it.

Now, you’ll want to stop heading in front of you, instead, you’ll want to change your compass, so that it either moves to the West or to the East. As you go, you’ll find many islands to explore for loot.

Heading Back

In order to go back, you’ll want your compass to face the opposite direction. In this case, you’ll want to have your purple marker face upwards. This will allow you to go back to the War Seas and exit the Dark Sea.

Unloading Your Ship

When you are back to the safe area, you can then talk to The Envisionary, Enizor to unload your ship. This will give you access to all the loot that you have gathered as you travelled and explored the Dark Seas.

These loots are likely to be higher in rarity and are things that you can use to help you progress quicker.

Arcane Odyssey Unload Ship

That is how you can Solo the Dark Sea in Arcane Oddysey. Two of the most important factors are your ship’s build and your navigational skills using the Dark Sea Compass. As long as your ship is strong enough to survive the environment, you should be able to solo the area fairly easily.
