When playing through RPGs, most of them give you a chance to meet some colorful people. Some of these games give you different companions, people that tag along in your journey to save the world or something. In Baldur’s Gate 3, there’s no shortage of interesting and fun companions in the game. You can even enter into romantic relationships with some of them.

In this guide, we’ll show you all of the companions you can have a romantic relationship within the game. Now, let’s see which companions you can make love with!

All Single Ladies List

There are a lot of characters that you can romance in Baldur’s Gate 3. Most of them, you’ll find in Act 1 or 2 that can also be your companions in battle.

They all have some interesting stories with them and adding in the romance is a great bonus. Here are all the single ladies you can have romantic relationships in the game.

Shadowheart

  • Race – Half-Elf
  • Starting Class – Cleric

One of the first companions you’ll meet after the tutorial area, Shadowheart is a Cleric of Shar. If you know anything about the lore of the Forgotten Realms, then this should be a red flag for you.

Still, if you want to give her a chance or maybe even sway her away from her evil goddess, then you can. Just don’t say the line “I can fix her” since I’ve heard it a thousand times already about her. Just remember to read the item description of her underwear, it’s quite funny.

Lae’zel

  • Race – Githyanki
  • Starting Class – Warrior

The first character you’ll meet that isn’t placing a brain muncher inside of you. Lae’zel is a Githyanki and if you know the lore, she might put you off.

If you’re not there to annoy her or to do sex-related speedruns but want to romance her, then you’re in for a good time. She takes her job seriously and prides herself as a warrior and a servant of the Lich Queen.

If you follow her story though, you’ll be in for a treat as you can see some well-written character development from this character.

Karlach

  • Race – Tiefling
  • Starting Class – Barbarian

You’ll meet Karlach later on in Act 1 if you explore far enough or you go through Wyll’s quest. Be careful though since one wrong move and you’ll be fighting her instead of inviting her to your party. If you do invite her, you have a hot tiefling in your party, and I mean this literally.

Contrary to Wyll’s initial thoughts on Karlach, she’s not an evil girl. She’s the opposite and is one of the sweetest companions you can have.

If you go and pursue her as a romantic interest, then you’ll have a long way to go but it’ll be worth it. Besides, she doesn’t even mind if you sleep with someone else while romancing her, but that’s completely optional.

Minthara

  • Race – Drow
  • Starting Class – Paladin

If you know the lore of the Drow, then you should know that Drow females are the dominant members of their society.

Minthara is the first companion in the list that you don’t recruit in Act 1. You’ll still need to do things in Act 1 for her to join but she’ll ultimately join the party in Act 2.

Also, if you’re interested, make sure to go check out our guide on How to recruit Minthara.

She’s also one of the characters with an Evil alignment and recruiting her means saying goodbye to a couple of companions. When you recruit this character, you’ll lose both Wyll and Karlach so be careful!

There are exploits and mods to avoid this but in the vanilla game, you’ll have to sacrifice a lot to get her. Is it worth it? Probably in a second playthrough like what I did.

Mizora

  • Race – Cambion
  • Profession – Patron of another companion

Not a companion but a person with whom you can have an intimate relationship in the game. Spoiler Warning for Wyll’s story.

Mizora is the Patron of Wyll since the latter is a warlock. She’s a devil (not to be confused with demons that are different in the Forgotten Realms) and has the paperwork to prove it.

You can Romance this character once you reach Act 3 with her still alive. Just remember that Wyll will not be too keen on the idea.

Nym Orlith

  • Race – Drow
  • Profession – Sex Worker

Another character that you can have a short-term romance with. Nym Orlith is half of the pair of twin Sex Workers you can hire in the Sharess’ Caress. So, when I say short-term, I mean it.

You can pay both of them to entertain you if that’s your fancy. She is not really a long-term romantic partner but is still part of the list since you can have a relationship with her, it only lasts for one night though.

That and it cost 500 gold, 1000 if you want her twin brother as well.

The Emperor

  • Race – Illithid
  • Profession – Self-Employed Emperor

I know what you’re thinking, that’s a tentacle monster, and he’s called The Emperor. Yes, but the Illithids are technically sexless and/or genderless, so he counts for this list. Besides, you probably have wondered if this is possible at the back of your mind, well here’s your answer.

The Emperor is an Illithid that you will meet later in the story and when you reach near the end of it with a good relationship with him, you can have sex with him. It’s not the weirdest thing to happen in the Forgotten Realms that’s for sure.

Those are all the female characters you can romance in Baldur’s Gate 3, plus one technicality. Now, go out there and pick the one that interests you the most!
