A brand stays forever, and in a fantasy setting like Baldur’s Gate 3 you would be wise to have an extra save on hand before making that decision. No amount of magic in this world will be able to laser off that burn mark after all.

Sure there’s bound to be a few benefits from having the right person bear the Mark of The Absolute, but a lot of people are still on the fence about fully committing to it. Check out the rest of the guide if you want to find out more on what having the mark can do to you!

Should You Get The Mark Of The Absolute?

You can get the sign or mark of The Absolute by interacting with True Soul Gut. To find her, you need to go to the Shattered Sanctum, just past the Goblin Camp. Getting the Mark of the Absolute from her will let you use certain equipment with special abilities. These will include the Absolute’s Warboard and the Gloves of Power.

If you use any of these abilities without getting branded with the mark you will be cursed with Bane until you take a long rest. This goes for the rest of your party as well.

Getting the Mark of the Absolute will give you special dialogue and roleplay options. This will let you achieve specific endings as well that are tied to having the mark on you or your party. The only downside to getting the mark is receiving disapproval from other party members such as Shadowheart.

So if you want access to good gear then getting branded will definitely be worth it. It doesn’t really sound that bad compared to using Mind Flayer Parasite specimens. Now that gives intrusive thoughts a whole new different meaning.
