When you play games like Baldur’s Gate 3, you expect nothing out of the ordinary as everything is just a fantasy. The problem comes into play when things start to drift towards dark fantasy. Something that only the most depraved denizens of the Forgotten Realms partake in.

Nearly everyone who tried to get involved with the Open Hand Temple murders either disappeared or has been made an example of. To make sure that you and your party don’t suffer the same fate, read the guide and solve the mystery yourself! With a little bit of much needed assistance from us of course.

Solve the Open Hand Temple Murders Guide

Upon talking to Sister Yannis at the temple, you’ll find out that the leader, Father Lorgan, has been murdered by someone named Brilgor. This is one of the possible ways to start the quest. Now go into the Kitchen on the right side of the altar and descend into the Cellar.

You’ll be visiting multiple locations apart from the Temple itself while doing this quest. Here’s where your travels will take you:

  • The graveyard behind the temple. This is where Brilgor is buried.
  • The tunnels underneath the temple. Can be accessed by going through the kitchen.
  • Fraygo’s Flophouse, you’ll be using the Flower key here later on.
  • Sharess’ Caress, the tavern sitting across Fraygo’s where Investigator Valeria is.

Go through the first room and turn right. At X; 20, Y: -1003, you’ll find a button behind a Heraldic Sign if you pass a Perception check. At the opposite side of the room will be another button that requires the same check. Press both of the buttons to gain access to the Tunnels underneath the Temple.

Head further into the tunnels to meet three figures: Rudd, Zomm, and Muzz, none of them are friendly. Get rid of them and mess with their corpses respectfully to get the following items:

  • Key with a Flower Motif.
  • The rare murder weapon, Stillmaker.
  • A Clown’s Severed Torso.

Go right as soon as you come inside and take the stairs going up. Make a U-turn and use the ladder at the end of the room. Use the Flower Key on the locked Wardrobe to get inside the secret room. You can also lockpick your way in, but that will make the Flower key useless.

You’ll find plenty of clues inside of this room including a list of targets ready for disposal. Reading the list will unlock the “Impress the Murder Tribunal” quest as well, but that’s for another day.

Here we have Alexis, he's been gaming ever since the second Famicom came out. Which is probably the reason why he goes back to platformers every now and then. Somewhere down the line he started getting more and more fascinated about looking at maps change colors for three to eight hours straight. If he's not out strategizing and beating the life out of his space bar in that order there's a good chance you can find him playing an FPS or talking someone's ear out about how game balance gets in the way of realism. You can tell that he really likes getting the full experience of whatever he gets his hands on.
