Once you have completed the side quest, you will then be able to go to the Sinkholes region where the Bantam Melon is. If you have the Across the Realms favor, then you will get an objective marker that will take you to the exact location.
You can find the Bantam Melon near the water on the ground. Again, it is marked with an objective marker, so you will be led to it easily.
