Valorant is a free-to-play first person hero shooter that was first released in April 2020 with a beta period before fully releasing in June 2020. The game is often called a mix of Overwatch and Counter-Strike due to its similar gameplay of heroes with special abilities and the gunplay of Counter-Strike. If you’re just starting Valorant and are looking for an Agent to main, then we can help you. Just follow the guide and we’ll show you how you can get the best agents.
Valorant – BEST Agents for Each Agent Role On PEARL
Pearl is a new map that’s being added to Valorant. As with new maps, you need to find out what Agent is best for what situation. While you can use any Agent for any situation, some Agents’ strengths play certain roles, which we will be explaining shortly.
Duelists
The first role we will talk about is the Duelist. As you can guess from the name, Duelists are basically the offensive side of your team. They will handle the charging players and deal with them head-on. The Agents who are great choices for Duelists are Neon, Jett, and Yoru. Due to their great mobility and smokes and flash, they can have the advantage of confusing opposing attackers.
Neon is great for creating a wall between other sites in Pearl. Her stuns are perfect after a wall to catch the enemy off guard.
Yoru requires a bit more time to learn, but once you get the hang of Yoru, you can easily get around the map, especially with the help of your Initiators.
Jett is valuable for her smoke + dash combo, which can get her out of situations quick or surprise attack any enemies caught in the smoke.
Sentinels
Sentinels are essentially your defense. They take the role of making sure all possible entryways are covered. They will deal with any enemy that comes through if the Duelists fail. Sentinels perfect for this map are Chamber, Killjoy, and Sage.
Chamber is fantastic for slowing down enemies who are approaching a site, especially B Site. His utilities force the enemy to use their own, thus dispatching approaching enemies much easier.
Players tend to overlook Killjoy and Sage because of how effective Chamber can be, but that doesn’t mean they’re not great. Killjoy’s Ultimate allows her to take sights, which is extremely valuable in a Comp match.
Sage on the other hand is great support Sentinel due to her wall being large and thick, making bullets impossible to pass through. This is also great for protecting the Agent with the bomb.
Controllers
Controllers are in charge of taking control of the sites they are at. It’s important for Controllers to be aware of the map and be prepared for it. They will also need to know the layouts of the map as well. Ideal Agents for the Controller role are Viper, Astra, and Brimstone.
Viper’s wall smoke is perfect for blocking large sites. Paired together with a Sage wall, they can defend the site that they are currently trying to hold, as well as section off a plant.
Astra is a great Controller for Pearl due to her utilities being able to pull or stun an enemy from a corner. Pearl has a lot of these, so it’s hard to tell where the enemy is hiding.
Brimstone can be a sort of anthesis to opposing defenders, but Brimstone will need to capitalize on the time where the rotations of the defenders start.
Initiators
Initiators might have a hard time getting the hang of this area due to how open it is, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. They can take advantage of the corridors leading to the other sites. The best Agents as Initiators are Breach, Fade, Skye.
Fade’s skill allows her to gather information before proceeding, which makes it a valuable tactic to do. With the skill, the team can have information of enemy positions if they are caught. Her Ultimate and dog are also a great combination when trying to take a site.
Breach’s stun is a godsend for this map. His stun, as well as his flash, can stall for time when planters need to finish their tasks. However, Breach is a team player, not a solo player. Breach performs incredibly well if the player cooperates with the other teammates.
Skye can get a large amount of information from the beginning, and her kit allows her to get the team to the site at a faster rate.
