There are many quests you can do in Blacktail, all of which are references to other popular folktale stories. With this guide, we will be focusing on one such quest called the Three Little Seeds. If you are having trouble trying to complete the quest, then you can follow this guide to help out. After all, a little help shouldn’t really hurt, especially in games with wide open worlds like Blacktail where you can easily get lost in it.
Three Little Seeds – Blacktail
Start quest
To start the quest, you need to set to this location on the map and talk to Borvy Borko.
You can find them here on the map, surrounded by the remains of a large tree.
Search children’s camp
When you get the quest, your first objective is to search the children’s camp. When you check your map, you will see that you are in the area of interest, but it’s best that you cross the river to find the actual camp.
When you make it to the camp, you will find a piece of paper on a rock. Examine it and you will get your next objective.
Take a look around the fairy rings
Your next objective is to look around the fairy rings, which can be found by checking your map. You can see that it’s close to your location, so you just head to the center of the area of interest.
You will come across a field with mushroom circles around. Look for the one mushroom circle with a piece of paper in the middle and examine it.
Look for the kids on the plains
After inspecting the piece of paper, your next objective is to go to the next area of interest to look for the kids on the plains.
When you reach the area of interest, look for this yellow plant and talk to it. This will lead you to your next objective.
Look for Sprout on the swamps
Your next objective is to go to the swamps to look for Sprout. The area of interest is a bit far compared to the previous ones, so it will take a couple of minutes to get there.
During your search for Sprout, you’ll come across a plant talking to a Mushroom Kid. Talk to the plant and you will have to fight off some weeds.
The area will be surrounded by a lot of weeds (or flowers with skeleton heads, to be precise). Take them out with deflect so the plant can continue singing.
After the weeds are taken care of, you will then need to use deflect on the little house surrounding the mushroom. After the house is gone, talk to the Mushroom Kid.
Look for Sprout further northwest
After talking to the Mushroom Kid, you find out that Sprout is further northwest of the map. You can find it on your map and see that the area of interest is a bit far up.
At the area of interest, you will have to look around until you spot another plant talking to a Mushroom Kid.
Just like before, the plant can’t sing because of the weeds that are growing around the area. Deflect these weeds and you will have to use deflect again on the Mushroom Kid. After doing that, talk to the Mushroom Kid to find out where Sprout is.
Find Sprout in the clearing
After talking to the Mushroom Kid, you will find that the area of interest on your map is now a bit northeast of your position, which is where Sprout might be.
When you get to the area, you can hear Sprout screaming at a couple of enemies. Deal with them and talk to Sprout.
Wake the plants up and keep them singing
After talking to Sprout, your next objective is to wake the plants up so they can sing. There are three in total, and you can find them glowing in the dark. There is one here near Sprout.
Another one here at the bottom of the hill near Sprout.
And the last one here on the other side of the hill where Sprout is.
When you get all three plants to start singing, that’s when the weeds come in. You will have to take them all out in order to keep the plants up, so you need to hurry and use deflect on all of the weeds that are next to all three of the plants. There will be multiple waves of them, so you have to be quick.
Decide the fate of the Fern Flower
Once the weeds are down and the plants are done signing, the Fern Flower will rise. Interact with the Fern Flower and you will be given the choice to either save the Flower and let Sprout die, or pick the Flower and let the plants die. Either choice will result in you going back to Borvy and Jack with the kids, which will end the quest.
