Skill is important, but equipment surely helps along the way. People make fun of fishermen for buying new and expensive rods and reels, but they don’t understand that quality matters when fishing. Low quality equipment will result in said equipment losing function faster than a high quality equipment does. It also applies to Call of the Wild’s The Angler game. The better the equipment, the better chances you can catch fish. In this Rod Reel Line Set guide, we will be teaching you how to set up your equipment for each circumstance in order to get the best possible outcome when fishing.

First off, we’ll talk about rods. The best stat to look for is Max Line Strength. Everything else? It doesn’t matter. The Max Line Strength stat is important in order to catch fish, as the fish will struggle to escape from your line. The stronger the line, the longer it will take for it to snap.

Speaking of lines, we now have to talk about the two most important components: the reel and the line. Starting off with reel, you will need to focus on two stats: Max Drag and Strength, specifically Max Drag. This stat is important because you will have to drag the fish towards you. If you have a fish that’s heavy, then you will have a hard time trying to reel in a fish with a reel that has less than 5.00 kg for Max Drag.

Next is the line. This is the equipment you need to be careful of, because this will be what latches on to your fish. If it’s too weak, then your line will snap.

Now that we’ve talked about the rod, reel, and line, we have to make sure that the equipment goes well together. You can’t just throw in a bunch of equipment together and call it a day. One part of the fishing rod is bound to break.

You have to look at the stats and make sure that all of your equipment can handle it. If you have a line that has a Strength of 20.00 kg, then you need a rod that has a Strength of 20.00 kg or above. Same with the reel.
