Placing public transportation options is one of the most essential things in Cities Skylines 2. Just like the real life, this way of transportation will help your citizens to travel around the city. That is why, you should be very careful while placing the bus lines and make sure to know everything you need before doing that. In this Cities Skylines 2: Ultimate Bus Guide, we will explain everything about buses.

Ultimate Bus Guide

Buses, unlike in Cities Skylines, become available at the start of the game. Later, you can place the bus routes all around your city for various reasons.

Public transportation can enhance your city by allowing your businesses to get more customers and making the city more accessible to its citizens.

Let’s go over everything you need to do to get your buses up and running.

How To Add Bus Lines

Building a bus depot is the first step in setting up bus lines. In order to do that, you should first click on the transport icon and place a bus depot anywhere you want.

Doing this will enable you to place bus lines around the city. You are going to need to pay 150,000 dollars to be able to put a bus depot.

Once you feel like it is time to upgrade your bus depot, you are going to have two different upgrade options.

  1. Electrical Buses (18,500$).
  2. Extra Garage to have 10 more buses (75,000$).

After placing your bus depot, your next move will be placing bus stops around the city. You can either place a bus stop sign or a bus shelter.

You are going to use these to create a route for the buses and place bus lines. Thus, be careful when you are placing these bus stops around the city.

Stop Shelter

Now that you placed the bus shelters or the bus stop signs according to the route you wish your buses to use, you can use the bus line tool.

In order to place bus lines, you are going to connect the bus stops with each other.

After connecting the shelters together, you are going to need to click on the starting shelter to complete the bus route.

Completing the Route

You can create more than one route and you can rename your routes from the Transportation Overview menu. There, you can check the length, the number of stops, buses, passengers, and the usage percentage.

If you wish to delete the route, you can also delete it from that section. Additionally, if you would like to change the color of your buses, you can do that as well.

After that, by clicking on the bus details button right next to the delete option, you can control everything you would like. You can select the vehicle model, adjust the ticket price, and assigned vehicles.

How To Add Bus Lanes

Another thing that you can control in the game while setting up your bus route is the lanes. By using the replace tool, you can change a normal lane to a public transport lane.

However, doing this will prevent other ways of transportation from using those lanes. Therefore, it might not be too beneficial for you to use it.
