Core Keeper: How To Get NPCs In Your Base

Core Keeper gives its players the choice of journeying through the game alone or bringing in seven other friends in a massive co-op experience.  It’s pretty similar to how Terraria and Starbound does its multiplayer setup. While most people would like this, there is still a demographic for those who would like to challenge the world solo.

Even alone, you would still need certain features that you can only unlock when you have NPCs in your base. This guide will show you how to get your NPCs and power up through them.

How To Get NPCs In Your Base – Core Keeper

Getting NPCs in Core Keeper is pretty straightforward, but you would still need to find them in your overworld.

Once you find an NPC, talk to them to find out what item they need and then get that particular item.

Before you can recruit them, you must first defeat Ghorm and Glurch, two of the bosses in the game. They will drop some items you would need for NPC recruitment later on.

Once you get these items, go back to your base and build a room for your NPCs. It’s important to note that you have to build an 8×8 room exactly as anything bigger or smaller may not be considered habitable.

Another thing to note is that they should have their own beds that other NPCs do not occupy.  Do this for all the NPCs you want to recruit.

After building the room, leave the item you got from the boss then get out of the room. Walk a good 30-tile distance for them to spawn.

And that’s it! If you did the steps right, the NPC should then spawn in the room without issues.

Each NPC offers a different service and it’s a good idea to recruit a merchant or two so you can buy materials that you rarely get from the overworld.

Hope you liked your new companions in game!
