Detailed Walkthrough
The best way to get Dragon Crystals is to fight dragons, that’s all obvious but where can you find them and what are the mechanics? Around the map, you can find spawn points for Drakes and Dragons, you’ll need to defeat them, and they’ll drop the crystals.
Staggering these dragons when fighting will give you a higher chance of getting more crystals so make sure to do that. You can also use the Thief Skill Plunder, or have a Thief pawn use it and it can have a chance of stealing Crystals.
I don’t know how they can ‘steal’ them from dragons but there’s a lot of weirder stuff in the game than pilfering from giant lizards.
Drake Spawn Locations and Respawn Mechanics
Some of the quests in the game will let you fight Drakes or Dragons but for spawn points, you’ll want to use the image below. Those are the spawn points for them, and you’ll need to go there and beat those oversized lizards up to get their crystals.
Once you’ve defeated all of them, you can make them respawn. All you have to do is rest in the game for around 7-14 in-game days. If you want it to be more consistent, then go for 14 in-game days.
After you’ve rested, you can check back on the spawns and fight the dragons to get their crystals!
Tips To Defeat Drakes
Now that you know where to find Drakes and Dragons, you’ll want to know how to easily deal with them. Drakes are all weak to ice, so make sure you have a pawn that can cast Ice Affinity to give everyone Ice damage.

Another great move to give to your Mage pawns is High Solemnity which can knock drakes out of the sky. This is great if you’re using a melee class, so they can drop to the ground for you to hit them.
Meteoron for Sorcerers and Celestial Paean are also great spells to have. The former deals a lot of damage while the latter can buff you and give you a ton of stamina to do continuous attacks.
With all those tips, you can now start farming Dragon Crystals in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Now, go out there and try it out yourself! If you’re hunting for Sphinx’s, make sure to check out our guide on what are its weaknesses to help you out!
