Dragon’s Dogma 2 was recently released on PC and other platforms by Capcom. It is an Open World Action RPG where players can use magic, swords and bows to fight various inhabitants of the world. The game is said to take place in the lands of Battahl and Vermund in a universe parallel to the first game. You do not need to play the first game in order to play Dragon’s Dogma 2.
This short guide will show you the weakness of Sphinx and how to solve her Fight Riddle. Keep reading to find out more.
What Is The Weakness Of Sphinx?
One of the creatures that you will meet in the game is Sphinx. She gives you a bunch of riddles to solve and you get treasure chests for correctly solving those riddles. Later on, you get to fight her but the fight itself is also a part of a riddle. You cannot defeat her in a traditional way of just launching all your attacks on her.
How To Defeat Sphinx
In order to defeat Sphinx, you need to drain her HP 4 times (3 small dots below her HP show how many bars of HP are left). But there is a catch to this fight. You can not hit her head. If you do so, the fight will be over and she flies away meaning you failed the riddle.
You can only attack her Wings, Legs or her Back to cause damage to her HP. Which is why we recommend dismissing all your extra Pawns as they can hit her head by mistake which will automatically fail the riddle. Also make sure to make your Main Pawn a regular Mage with no offensive attacks or traits.
Unmaking Arrow
If you do not wish to fight Sphinx the normal way then you can use the Unmaking Arrow. Shoot the Sphinx in the Wings with the Unmaking Arrow and you will be able to kill her with one hit. This method is for those who do not want to go through the challenge of actually fighting Sphinx (which we believe is more fun than just killing her with one hit).
Sphinx Taking Zero Damage
If you are in a situation where your attacks deal zero damage to Sphinx, it is highly likely that you have the Ring of Derision equipped. Sphinx gives you a Ring to fight one of the guys in a riddle. The Ring of Derision reduces all your damage when equipped. Unequip the Ring and you will now be able to deal damage to Sphinx again.
Success In Solving Sphinx Fight Riddle
Once you are successful in defeating Sphinx according to the riddle (not hitting her head) then you will get the following animation sequence.
