Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is finally here, and the more hardcore folks out therehave already gotten all the way to the end in a matter of days. In this guide, we will try to give you a few tips on how to deal with Consort Radahn, who happens to be the final boss of the DLC.

How to Beat Consort Radahn Boss Guide

Before we begin, we all have our own unique comfort builds in Elden Ring, so the tips here will all just be general advice and an overview of how the fight itself will flow.

Prior to starting the fight, we hope you’ve been racking up Scadutree Blessings throughout your DLC run. If you made it this far without even bothering, then that’s actually pretty impressive, but spare yourself the headache and look for Scadutree Fragments.

First Phase – Promised Consort Radahn

Tip #1. Buff Up Before Entering the Mist

It goes without saying, but this fight is going to be pretty damn tough. As such, if you have any consumables that will raise your stats, use them all up before you go through the mist.

Pop something like a Great Rune before going in. Godrick’s or Radahn’s are decent general options for almost any build. Get stats like your HP and attack up with whatever consumables you have too.

Aside from that, if you did the Ansbach questline, you can also summon him right outside the mist before facing Radahn. That will give you a nice free meat shield for a few brief moments.

Tip #2. Do Not Summon Immediately

Upon traversing the mist, do not use your Mimic Tear (or whatever summon you’re going to use) just yet. Promised Consort Radahn will charge straight at your face within a second, and you’ll be hit with your bell out if you try to summon immediately.

Instead, wait for him to aggro Ansbach first, assuming you summoned him for the fight. If you don’t have Ansbach with you, you’ll have to wait for an opening to get your summon out.

Tip #3. Gravity / Meteority Attack + Follow Up

When Radahn flies away and starts channeling a meteorite attack, start strafing to one direction and get ready to dodge just before the projectiles hit you. They will all fly towards you at roughly the same time, and one or two rolls timed correctly should be enough to avoid any damage.

After a few seconds of returning to the ground, Radahn will likely leap towards you with a heavily telegraphed jump attack (sometimes two in a row). Dodge or block this attack and get ready to do the same for the following multi strike combo.

He will occasionally also channel an ability that will pull everybody towards him, and this is followed by a ground slam that summons spikes from the ground. This is telegraphed by him crossing his arms and glowing purple for a second. Be ready to roll away when he assumes this pose.

Tip #4. Just Be Patient

Other than the previous tips, just be patient and wait for an opening, as with most other bosses. Radahn can be a bit relentless with his combos, so if you can, just try to block/dodge and poke in between attacks as much as you can.

If you get lucky and he starts aggroing your Mimic Tear, start smacking the boss as much as you can until you get its attention again. Without aggro on you, it shouldn’t take long to trigger the next phase of the fight.

Second Phase – Radahn, Consort of Miquella

At around 75% health, give or take, a cutscene will play, marking the beginning of the next phase of the fight. He’ll retain some of the moves he did earlier, but there will be new attacks or more deadly variants of the previous ones to watch out for.

When the second phase begins, you have a brief moment to pop a buff or two if you need to, or sip your flask if you somehow got hit right before the cutscene played.

Tip #1. Run From Area of Effect Light Attack

At the start of this phase, he will likely immediately hover in the air and charge up a light attack that can reach a wide radius. Whenever he does this, you’ll have a decent amount of time to run away.

If you dodge too far away, be prepared for him to charge at you just as he did in the previous phase. Again, he will be using what are essentially enhanced versions of his original attacks, so be on the lookout for the similar telegraphs as before.

Tip #2. DODGE THE GRAB

This is in all caps for emphasis, as you do not want to get hit by his quick grab attack. During this phase, he will occasionally charge up (he will start glowing too) for a second or two before leaping toward you.

When he jumps after this animation, dodge away from him. Getting hit with this for the first time won’t kill you, but it will apply a status effect that will result in an instant death if you get grabbed a second time.

This charm effect can be countered by using Miquella’s Great Rune after it is applied to you, but it is much better if you just avoid getting grabbed altogether. This is because you will be very vulnerable as you try to remove it.

It should also be noted that he can grab summons. If he does this, funnily enough, you’ll have a huge window of opportunity to just start hitting him while he stands there helplessly.

Those are pretty much everything you need to watch out for, as everything else is roughly the same as the first phase. Just start familiarizing yourself with his combos early on to get used to poking him in between attacks.

And that sums up the entire fight, which can be deceptively hard up until you start memorizing his attack strings. While you’re here, check out our guide on the map fragment locations in Shadow of the Erdtree to help you get 100% completion!
