Welcome, farmers! In this guide, we’ll show you how to automate field processes in Farming Simulator 25, whether you’re harvesting, seeding, fertilizing, or performing other tasks. The game offers two key features to help automate these tasks: AI Workers and Steering Assist. These features are standalone, so don’t confuse the two. Let’s dive into how to use them effectively!

How to Use AI Workers & Steering Assist

Using AI Workers

AI Workers can take over field tasks for you, allowing you to step away and let the game handle the work. Here’s how to set them up:

  1. Open Mode Menu: While in a vehicle, hold the Circle button (PS) to open the mode menu.
  2. Select AI Worker: Choose the AI Worker option from the menu.AI Worker menu in Farming Simulator 25
  3. Settings: Pay attention to the information on the left-hand side of the screen.
    • Working Width: Set to automatic, which usually matches the width of your vehicle. For very large equipment, you might need to adjust this manually. How to select vehicle working width for AI FS25
    • Headlands: The blue lines around the outside of the field can be challenging for AI. If the AI struggles, turn off the Headlands option and handle the edges of the field yourself.Headlands (AI Worker) menu in FS25
  4. Activate AI Worker: Press the OK button (X for PS) to activate the AI Worker. They will start working on the field, ignoring the Headlands if you turned them off.

Tip: AI Workers may take some time to find a starting point. Be patient and let them do their thing. They’ll continue working until the job is done, the vehicle is full, or something obstructs them.

Using Steering Assist

Steering Assist is ideal if you prefer to play and ensure straight lines while working. It performs a single line task and then stops, making it reliable for precise work.

  1. Open Mode Menu: While in a vehicle, hold the Circle button to open the mode menu.
  2. Select Steering Assist: Choose the Steering Assist option.
  3. Settings: Adjust the settings as needed.Steering assist menu with settings explanation in Farming Simulator 25
    • Working Width: Automatic settings usually work well. Adjust if needed for wider equipment.
    • Headlands: The blue lines around the field can cause issues. Steering Assist focuses on straight lines, making it more reliable.
  4. Activate Steering Assist: Press the OK button to activate Steering Assist. Line up your vehicle, press the Circle button (PS) to select a lane, and the vehicle will follow the blue lines. How to use Steering Assist in Farming Simulator 25

TIP: Enable cruise control (L1 + R1 for PS) to let the vehicle drive itself, maintaining a straight path between the blue lines.

Which is Better? AI Workers or Steering Assist?

Well to be honest, I like both as it depends on the scenario. I usually use AI Workers for larger, hands-off tasks when I need to step away. But I use Steering Assist for precise, straight-line tasks when I want to ensure the task go smoothly.

In any case, both of these features save you time and effort in Farming Simulator 25, allowing you to handle other tasks or take a break. We also found a way to get free water in Farming Simulator 25, so make sure you check out our article on that!
