Genshin Impact’s new Update 4.1 features a variety of content, including new areas to explore, quests to complete and secrets to uncover. This content is spread out on the new Fontaine and Fortress Meropide areas, which are incredibly unique.
One of these quests requires you to locate 7 Mysterious Ores throughout the new update locations. These mysterious ores are incredibly well hidden, and it is very difficult to locate all of them. In this guide, we will show you the locations for all of these Mysterious Ores. Let’s dive in.
All 7 Mysterious Ore Locations
The 7 Mysterious Ores are required to forge the Arkhium Lumenite. With this ore, you can use it to open a Secret Door for some truly incredible rewards. The Mysterious Ore locations can be identified by star icons that you can see when you open the World Map.
However, getting the Mysterious Ores is not as straightforward as just going to these star locations. There are some prerequisites you need to fulfill for some of the Mysterious Ore locations like completing World Quest. Sometimes they are also incredibly well hidden.
We will show you the exact requirements and directions so you can get each of these ores.
Mysterious Ore 1
The first Mysterious Ore can be found in the Abandoned Production Zone in the Fortress Meropide area.
However, to get access to the area where it is, you will need to complete the Unfinished Comedy quest that is part of the Game of the Rich.

When you’ve finished these requirements, teleport to the Abandoned Production Zone Waypoint.
Make your way ahead until you arrive in a green crystal cavern. Keep going straight ahead on the path you are on while looking towards the left.
You will find the Mysterious Ore in a corner of a green crystal formation. Pick it up to get your first Mysterious Ore.
Mysterious Ore 2
The second Mysterious Ore can be found in Kuisel’s Clockwork Workshop: Middle Level. You will need to have completed the Road to Singularity World Quest to gain access to this area.
After that, teleport to the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region Waypoint that is nearby.
After teleporting, turn to the Northeast on your compass and jump over the small cliff that comes in your way.
You will see a pathway that leads into an abandoned looking tunnel. Make your way through this tunnel and Activate the lift you see at the end.
Continue walking ahead until you arrive at a fork. Take a right into the tunnel, following the path before the tunnel ends abruptly.
Jump down and glide to the bottom. Enter the tunnel nearby and activate the lift at the end.
Follow the new tunnel you are in until you see an air draft going all the way up. Glide into this air draft and you will rise all the way up, where you’ll see another small tunnel.
Keep following this path until you arrive into a large area. At the end, you will see another tunnel.
Enter this tunnel and you’ll find yet another lift that will take you down. Use the lift and you’ll find yourself in Kuisel’s Clockwork Workshop.
The Mysterious Ore will be floating in the middle and you can pick it up for your second ore.
Mysterious Ore 3
The third Mysterious Ore can be found in a deep underwater area. You will need to have completed the Treacherous Light Of The Depths World Quest to gain access to this Mysterious Ore. During this Quest, you will reach a chamber with this objective: Exit via the current.
Make your way to this chamber and drop down into the water on the edge. Keep going deeper, entering the small vortex that allows you to go even deeper. From there, follow the tunnel in the water until you are just about to exit.
Floating in the middle, you will see a Mysterious Ore. Pick it up and now you have three mysterious Ores.
Mysterious Ore 4
The fourth Mysterious Ore can be found in the Cube of Water near the Central Laboratory Ruins.
To get this Mysterious Ore, you should have completed the Fontaine Research Institute Chronicles World Quest. This will give you the Central Laboratory Ruins Waypoint, which you should teleport to.
After teleporting there, jump down and start gliding towards the water cube. When you reach it, you will automatically start swimming inside.
Look for a Jellyfish in the area, so that you can absorb the Jellyfish Bomb ability from them.
Swim ahead and you will see a small building ruin with a rock on top of it. This rock will have a blue crack on it.
Use your Jellyfish Bomb ability on the blue crack, and it will destroy the rock from your path.
Lastly, swim inside the newly opened space and you will find a Mysterious Ore floating inside. Pick it up for your 4th Mysterious Ore.
Mysterious Ore 5
The fifth Mysterious Ore can be found Southeast of the Central Laboratory Ruins near a giant robot. Teleport to the Waypoint that is on the South of this star icon.
Turn to the right immediately and make your way down the path. After following the path, you will see a giant robot in the distance.
One of its hands will be raised and you can make out the Mysterious Ore floating in it. However, you need to solve a puzzle to reach it.
Near the robot, you will see a smaller robot next to a notice board. Approach this robot and click the Rotate option.
After this, a slime enemy will respawn and you need to kill it. Once that’s done, a Water portal will appear.
Enter this water portal and it will take you to the top of the hand, where you can pick up Mysterious Ore 5.
Mysterious Ore 6
The sixth Mysterious Ore can be found in the Academic Assembly Hall area in Fontaine. Teleport to the waypoint that is next to the star icon.
When you spawn, look towards the right at the giant building that looks like a colosseum. The Mysterious Ore is located on the third floor. You will need to climb up to the top, starting from the shortest point of the wall.
After that, the pathway is pretty straightforward. Climb up, wait for stamina to regain, and then climb up again.
Eventually, you will be able to see the Mysterious Ore on the third floor. Climb up onto the platform and you will be able to pick up Mysterious Ore 6.
Mysterious Ore 7
The last Mysterious Ore can be found in the Mont Esus East region in an underwater area. This Mysterious Ore is the hardest one to get as it requires fighting a boss and a lot of swimming around. Make sure that you have food prepared as you can take a lot of damage at this point.
Start by teleporting to the Mont Esus Waypoint. On the map, you will see that there are two ways you can enter the underwater cave to get to the Mysterious Ore.
However, the upper path is blocked and is only opened once you get the Mysterious Ore.
So, you will need to go through the other path. When you spawn in, turn to the right and walk towards the water where you can see a waterfall.
Go into the water and swim ahead, until you reach the deeper area, where you will even see some ducks. Dive in and wrap back towards the waypoint, and you will see a large underwater cave.
Follow the path in this cave, grabbing the Jellyfish Bomb ability when you see it. Up ahead, you will see red tendrils blocking the path. Throw the Jellyfish bomb on it, and it will explore, clearing the way ahead for you.
Follow the path again, until you reach a large cavern. Here, a giant blue blob will summon tendrils and the water will slowly start draining your HP. This is why food preparation is key so that you can keep healing yourself.
Use your Jellyfish bombs to destroy the glowing tendrils and any enemies you see in the area. You can find Jellyfish in the area to replenish your bombs.
After you’ve destroyed enough glowing tendrils, the blob will reveal itself to be a boss known as the Thorny Cyst.
Start throwing Jellyfish bombs at the Thorny Cyst and any enemies it spawns. You will see that it will start losing health.
There are even Orange fishes nearby that you can use to replenish your HP when fighting the enemies and Thorny Cyst.
At one point, the Thorny Cyst will stop taking damage. This is where you start hitting the glowing tendrils again until you can start damaging it again. These cycles will keep repeating until you have defeated the Thorny Cyst once and for all.
When the Thorny Cyst is defeated, a Mysterious Ore will appear when it explodes. Pick it up and you will be able to get your last Mysterious Ore.
There you have it! That’s where you can find all 7 Mysterious Ores. Now you can take these Ores and forge the Arkhium Lumenite which will allow you to open a Secret Door with plenty of rewards waiting for you!
