Before you can start the quest, you need to follow along the questline given by Bertrand. He will ask you for help in creating toys by collecting materials for him. He will then give you the gadget called the Material Collector.
You need to have this gadget before you can start the objective. Once you have the gadget, make sure you equip the Material collector in your gadget slot. You will then get the objective of gathering the Portions of Core Propulsion by collecting slimes.
Open up your adventurer’s handbook and track the slimes. You can also simply go to the Mondstadt or Liyue area where you will find a lot of slimes in the wild. It does not matter what type of element the slime is, you simply need to defeat them.
Once you defeat the slimes and collect 3 portions of core propulsion using the material collector, you will complete the objective.
