Durlin is a dwarf character in God of War Ragnarok. During the progress of your Main Mission 10: Forging Destiny, Durlin will give you the side quest Spirit of Rebellion.

Although you are not required to do this side quest in order to move forward with the story progress of the game, it is still better to complete this since you can get bits of information about the game lore. Rewards are also granted after you succeed in this.

Hammer Location in Spirit of Rebellion Favour in God of War Ragnarok

You can start this side quest after you finish the Main Mission 10: Forging Destiny. Head over to the NIdavellir Beach in Svartalfheim and talk to Drulin.

If you are already way past that mission, you can trigger this by going to his tavern in Nidavellir located in Svartalfheim.

After the conversation, Durlin will ask you to find the location of the Forge Hammer and bring it back to him.

Forge Hammer Location

First, go to the Boat Dock on Dragon Beach in Svartalfheim. From here, your goal is to go to Alberich Hollow.

From the docks, head straight and move over to the last tower on the left. Interact with the chain to climb.

Once you reach the top, you will see a rod stuck in the wood. Use it to climb your way to the next platform. Then, climb to the next platform on the left side.

On this spot, grapple your way to the other side adjacent to the tower.

Upon landing, turn left and you will see an incomplete rune slate right after you jump over the broken portion of the passageway.

At the end of the path, you will see a gigantic hammer statue. Interact with it and it will lift the hammer, exposing a chest inside.

Approach the chest, and pick up Durlin’s hammer.

To claim your reward for this mission, go back to where you talked to Durlin and talk to him. You will earn 3000 XP for Kratos, 750 XP for Freya, 30 Whispering Slab, Rebel Leader, and a new runic attack called Mountain Splitter.
