The Termite Axe is the best axe in the game. It is a Tier 3 Axe and you can only get it if you, of course, figure out the mystery of what does it have to do with Termite’s. To do this, you will need to learn more about the termites in the game, and that means having to get up close and personal with the ugly little beasts. If you are trying to get the Termite Axe for yourself, then you will need a guide to help you. Luckily, you are reading one for that axe right now.
How To Get Termite Axe – Grounded
The Termite Axe is a Tier 3 Axe, so you will need to do some material analyzing in order to craft the axe. In order to do so, you will need to get Termite Chompers from Termite Soldiers. Luckily, there is a colony of Termite Soldiers located here on this part of the map (refer to the image above to find the termite colony).
This is the entrance to the termite colony. You will find some baby termites when you enter, but they are not the ones you are looking for. Instead, move past them and head to the end of the hallway until you emerge back outside again.
Once out, you will have to climb up to get to another part of the colony. Refer to the image above and you should see a log with a hole in it. This is where the Termite Soldiers are. You will have to climb up carefully, because one slip up will plummet you to your death.
When you get near it, you will realize that there is no bridge or anything to get in the hole. Instead, you will have to climb on top of the entrance and carefully drop down into the hole. Doing this incorrectly will result in you falling to your death.
Head inside and you will see a ton of Termite Soldiers just swarming around. The best way to do this is to not run in, screaming Leroy Jenkins. That will just end with you getting swarmed by a lot of Termite Soldiers. Instead, you will have to stand close enough so that you can aggro at least one or two Termite Soldiers. Once they start chasing you, you then back away from them so that they are cut off from the others.
The best way to fight Termite Soldiers is just to use bombs. They won’t alert nearby Termite Soldiers and they also deal with them quickly. However, you can just do it the old fashioned way if you don’t have bombs.
Once you have the Termite Chompers after defeating Termite Soldiers, go to your Resource Analyzer and analyze the Termite Chompers. This will then give you the Termite Axe recipe, which is the Tier 3 Axe of the game.
Exit the Resource Analyzer and open your crafting menu and you should see the Termite Axe available for crafting. To craft the axe, you will need 2x Termite Chompers, 3x Termite Part, and 4x Tough Gunk. Farm these resources and you should be able to finally craft the Termite Axe.
