Hollowed, a new soul-like game in Roblox, has been finally released and it’s filled with exciting mechanics, lore, and lore. In this guide, I’ll cover everything you need to know to thrive, from basic survival and leveling up to choosing classes, earning money, and understanding the alignment system. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to deepen your strategy, my guide provides step-by-step insights to help you progress in the game.
Complete Beginner’s Guide (Levelling Up, Classes, Alignments & More)
You start with three lives. If you die, you lose one and losing all three wipes your data. But by breaking certain vases, you might recover a lost life, so be mindful of your limited lives as you play.
Runic is the currency of the game. You can earn it by:
- Selling Trinkets
- Selling Weapon Book
- Selling Artifacts
- Selling Special Potions
- Selling Rare Ingredients
- Exchanging some of the Hostile NPC’S with Jailors
- Gripping other players
- Receiving it directly from other player, using the Runic drop system
Earning Money & Weapons
To get your first weapon, you’ll need money. Start by collecting trinkets found across the map; breaking vases and exploring areas like Newcastle is effective. Once you have enough, head to the weapon shop for your first purchase.
Map Navigation with Teleport Crystals
The map is large, so you’ll need teleport crystals to get around efficiently. You can buy these in most areas, making it easier to navigate and complete quests.
Classes & Races
Hollowed features a diverse class system, including Base Classes, Advanced Classes, and Hyper Classes. To unlock each of these, you will need to earn experience points (EXP) and complete specific quests. At the start, you can explore various locations and interact with Trainers to choose a Base Class. There are four core classes in Hollowed: Ravager, Swordsman, Severance, and Elementarist.
Each class offers unique passives and abilities, providing different combat advantages. For those who prefer ranged magic attacks, the Elementarist is the go-to class, excelling in rapid spellcasting with a passive ability that boosts its range. The other Base Classes focus on close combat:
- Swordsman specializes in counterattacks, dealing extra damage when the enemy breaks your guard.
- Ravager uses a heavy axe to deal massive damage and can withstand attacks thanks to their durable armor, gaining a speed boost while wearing it.
- Severance, the rogue class, focuses on agility and uses a dagger for swift, deadly strikes.
Advanced Classes Explained
After selecting a Base Class, you can unlock Advanced Classes to further improve your damage potential. Some Advanced Classes come with passive abilities, while others do not, so choosing the right class requires careful consideration.
Advanced Classes with passives:
- Bolt
- Vigilante
- Spectral
- Chains
- Bloodshed
- Hira
- Necromancer
- Engineer
- Field Crosser
Advanced Classes without passives:
- Operator
- Executioner
- Sliced
- Judge
For example, the Engineer class excels at AoE (Area of Effect) damage, while Bloodshed offers lifesteal, making it great for sustained combat. Hira is a support class that can heal allies and even revive knocked-out players. Players who start as Severance can later unlock Vigilante, an upgraded version of the assassin class that gains a powerful invisibility passive, allowing for stealthy attacks and ambushes.
Each class in Roblox Hollowed provides unique playstyles, so choosing the right one for your preferred combat style can drastically impact your gameplay.
There are also races and they provide you with innate buffs (In order from best to worst).
- Shaile
- Hydra
- Onija
- Czary
- Refur
- Rias
- Akula
Getting Started: Money, Armor, and Weapons
Before taking on more advanced quests, gather money for armor and weapons. Daggers are a good beginner weapon, but you can choose others based on your play style. Armor is essential for survival, so make sure to get equipped early.
Quests and Mana Compass
Quests are a great way to earn rewards, and a Mana Compass will help you navigate to quest locations. Get a Mana Compass where you buy weapons to simplify your exploration.
Karma System and Alignment
The karma system in Hollow assigns color-coded tags to players:
- Red tags indicate skilled players/better than the average.
- Orange tags indicate freshie killers, while green tags signify helpful heroes.
- Green tags indicate our heroes.
- Gray tags mean Anti-Karma farming.
- Brown tags mean soft ban.
You can build your alignment through actions: Pure Blood players gain unique rewards and NPC interactions, while Dark Blood players face hostility but gain specific rewards.
Prayer statues reward alignment points when interacted with. Statues are scattered around key locations like Forgotten Woods and Newcastle. Each prayer boosts your alignment, impacting the path you choose in the game.
The game’s Alignment System, also known as Blood Pureness, is essential for shaping your character’s path and interactions. This system revolves around alignment points earned through your actions, which determine your alignment as either Pure Blood or Dark Blood—each path bringing unique consequences and rewards. Below is a breakdown of how to earn alignment points and progress in the system.
- Pure Blood Points
- Earned through virtuous actions, Pure Blood points encourage positive deeds and helpful interactions.
- Quests: Complete quests focused on benevolent or heroic acts.
- Jailing: Capture and turn in monsters or Dark Blood players to the Jail NPC. Higher points are awarded for rarer or more malicious targets.
- Earned through virtuous actions, Pure Blood points encourage positive deeds and helpful interactions.
- Dark Blood Points
- Collected through chaotic or harmful actions, Dark Blood points lead to a reputation rooted in fear and hostility.
- Quests: Engage in quests with dark or evil objectives.
- Combat: Defeat other advanced players to increase your chaotic score. Points are not awarded for killing new players.
- Assassinations: Accept assassination contracts from the hunter NPC, targeting and eliminating players for rewards.
- Collected through chaotic or harmful actions, Dark Blood points lead to a reputation rooted in fear and hostility.
User Interface Overview
The game’s UI shows your lives, health, and food levels. Be sure to eat regularly, as food is essential and can be bought around the map.
- Health: The red bar represents your current HP. Hovering over it reveals the exact HP value. Keep an eye on this bar to track your health during gameplay.
- Hunger: The yellow bar indicates hunger levels. Lower hunger reduces your HP regeneration rate, so be sure to keep it up for better recovery.
- Toxicity: After drinking any potion, a green bar will appear above your HP, showing your current toxicity level. If this bar fills to maximum, your character will die instantly, so be cautious with potion use.
- Body Temperature: When facing extreme weather, like Tundra’s cold winds or Desert heat, your HP bar will be overlaid with ice or flames. If the overlay fully covers your HP, you’ll suffer frostbite or heatstroke, and continued exposure will be fatal.
