There can be confusing mechanics in Starfield if you’re not used to it, like not knowing how to connect the Extractor to the Storage bin. If you don’t, your Extractor won’t be able to deposit iron or whatever type of resource it’s mining into the storage. And without that, you cannot run your farm.
We’ll show you how you can do that on both PC and controller.
How to Connect Extractor to Storage Bin
Two things to note before you try are make sure you put down the right type of storage and that it’s within range of the Extractor. There are three types of Storage bins for solid, liquid, and gas resources.
Once you build them within the allowed range, you can connect your Extractor to the Storage Bin. Multiple Extractors can be linked to multiple Storage Bins.
Start by entering the Build Mode. To create an output link from Extractor, press RT on controller and right-click on mouse. Do that, then pull the red line to the Storage that you want to connect them. You’ll notice that you can connect it to several storages in case that you’ll be leaving it for a long time.
