The Battle Suits are strong early game armors Star Ocean: The Second Story R. They’re generally available much later in the game, however you can get them much earlier.
We’re going to show you exactly how you can get not just one, but two of this armor. There are going to be better armors later down the line, but with these available early, you’ll have less worries breezing through the game.
How To Get 2 Battle Suits Early
The Battle Suit grants a flat 500 DEF stat. To get the battle suits, you need to have Ernest in your team, which requires recruiting the Opera first. If you haven’t already recruited them, here’s a guide on How to recruit Opera & Ernest.
Once you have Ernest in your team, teleport to Marze and enter the library which is in the left side of the town. And then, enter Private Action mode and you’ll be able to interact with Ernest. Pickpocket Ernest for the first Battle Suit here.
You can save right outside of the town before doing this, so you can reload in case you fail. And do note that you can change your relationship with your team members if you keep stealing from them (and fail!).
The second Battle Suit will be available after you have unlocked Linga. Again, head into the Library after going into Private Action mode. You’ll find Ernest among the bookshelves. Pickpocket Ernest again for the second Battle Suit.
