There’s a new grand strategy game in town and it’s the long-awaited sequel to Victoria 2. Paradox Interactive has graced the fans with Victoria 3, a game set in, you guessed it, the Victorian era. You can pick whichever nation you want to play as, and guide them through the era controlling every aspect of that nation. From their military, to domestic goods production, to diplomacy and politics. The game is quite complex, and even though the game shows a lot of information on tooltips, sometimes they’re not enough. In this guide we’ll show you how to Increase Standard of Living in Victoria 3.
Victoria 3: How to Increase Standard Of Living
Why would you increase your standard of living in the game anyway? Well, it’s because this is one of the ways to reduce radicals in the game. Increasing the standard of living also is a sign of a good economy since people have higher wages, or they can afford most of the things they want or need at that time. That’s why it’s good to keep the Standard of Living high, so this is how you do it.
Victoria 3 has a lot of tooltips, and sometimes these tooltips are hidden inside other tooltips. Confusing, I know. The best way to know what you need to do to increase the standard of living is to hover over the Standard of Living number on the upper left of the screen. Then hover over a pop’s standard of living score, then the amount of money in percentage, and you’ll find a list.
This list is what you need to keep an eye out of. The top ones are usually the things you need to fix, for the image above you can see that the price of Liquor and Clothes are high, so lowering it by introducing more supply to those goods will help this pop out.
Congratulations you now know how to increase the standard of living in Victoria 3. Now go out there and make your pops happy! Remember that each pop has different needs and ultimately you can’t make every single one of them happy. You have to balance things in this game. Sometimes you have to sacrifice making clothes factories for now to make weapons factories!
