Star Ocean The Second Story R puts you on a journey with multiple things to know more about. With the party feature, you will not be alone on your journey. As you progress, you will be able to recruit new teammates and have them accompany you as you explore the regions.

Some of these party members can be quite unexpected. For example, you may be able to find Welch falling from the sky! That can still be a good thing since you’re getting a party member without having to spend a lot of effort. In this guide, we’ll show you how to recruit Welch in the game.

How To Recruit Welch

To Recruit Welch, you must finish the Tournament of Arms in Lacuer City first. Then, go to the town entrance in Lacuer City and head north while you are in PA Mode. This will then trigger a small cutscene.

If you have just finished the contest, you’ll need to exit the city first and enter again. This will let you switch to PA mode once you get back to the city.

Keep in mind that this is a limited-time PA, meaning that you won’t be able to recruit Welch later in the story.

During the cutscene, Welch will fall from the sky, landing on top of you. Then, there will be dialogue options for you to reply to her.

Choose any of the options you want, and you will be able to recruit Welch to the party.

After that, switch to Normal mode.

Then, there will be a small cutscene where you introduce Welch to everyone in your party. After the scene ends, a notification will pop up on your screen saying that you have successfully recruited Welch to your party.
