The Starfield – Shattered Space expansion has finally released and fans can now finally get into it. However, when you launch the game, it’s not immediately clear how exactly you unlock the DLC in the game. Not to worry, we have you covered!
In this guide, we’ll show you all the steps you need to follow to start the Shattered Space DLC in Starfield. This is especially useful for those players who’d like to skip past the main missions. Let’s dive in!
How to Start Shattered Space DLC
To start the Shattered Space DLC in Starfield, you’ll need to go through the following steps:
- Complete the One Small Step main mission
- Grav Jump to any orbit not used for a specific mission
- Investigate the Oracle space station to start the DLC.
Of course, you’ll also have to have the DLC actually downloaded so make sure it’s properly installed if you’re running into problems.
Complete One Small Step
First things first, you’ll need to complete the One Small Step mission to actually be able to access the Shattered Space DLC in game. This is the very first story mission in Starfield.
This mission will end just after your first meeting with Constellation at the Lodge. After that, you’ll have access to the Frontier.
Grav Jump To Correct Orbit
Once you have completed the One Small Step mission, it’s time to grav jump to the right orbit. The requirement is that the orbit should be one that is not used specifically for any other mission.
Just check the map and you can see whether an orbit has a quest or event tied to it. After that, grav jump to the orbit. In our case, we grav jumped to the Bessel system, but you can go to any other that fits the criteria.
Keep in mind that the recommended level for the Shattered Space DLC is Level 35. This is not a requirement, just a suggestion.
So, if you really want to play it before this level, you can mess with the difficulty options to make it more manageable.
Enter Orbit Space Station
After you grav jump to the right orbit, you’ll immediately receive a distress call from a space station. Additionally, you’ll see the Oracle space station right in front of you, which is the source of the distress call.
This will start the What Remains mission, which is the first mission of the Shattered Space DLC. Whenever you’re ready to start the DLC, simply dock with the space station to start the DLC storyline.
