Depending on when you are reading this or what edition you bought, Frostpunk 2 is already playable and you can now experience all of the new mechanics introduced in the sequel to the hit survival city building game. Now that you can establish and manage colonies around the frozen wastes, you are probably wondering how to transfer resources between them and the main city. Read on to learn how!
How to Transfer Resources
If you are playing through the game’s story mode, then you will eventually make it to a point where you have to create a path that will connect New London to one of your (potential) colonies. In this case, it will be the Old Dreadnought.
Once you have done that and a colony has been established there, your next objective will be to transfer oil output to the main city. In order to do that, you must first hover over to the top right corner of the screen.
There, you will find an icon representing your colonies, which in this example will be Old Dreadnought. Click on this icon to reveal some more options in a drop down menu.
Now, with the menu that pops up, you will want to select the leftmost option. This is the “Resource Transfer” button, which is obviously what we are looking for here.
Upon clicking on it, another menu will pop up. This is where you can start playing around with sliders in order to move resources between the two locations. In this case, we need to direct oil output over to New London.
To do that, just move the slider next to the oil barrel icon to the right to send stuff over to New London. Of course, whether or not the objective for the story-related task will be completed will depend on your current progress, so you might need to do this again later if you don’t have enough.
Familiarize yourself with this menu, because you will be using it quite a bit over the course of a playthrough. In fact, you might need to send over some materials & food over to Old Dreadnought as you are trying to get oil out of it.
Just take your time to see what the colony needs and what you can transfer between it and the main city. When you are done playing around with the sliders to meet whatever goals you need to complete, click on the “Transfer Resources” button at the bottom of the menu to finish the process.
And that is pretty much everything you need to know in order to transfer resources between colonies and the main city of New London. Hopefully this will help you progress through the game and keep your colonies from collapsing due to the lack of resources!
