With the recent release of Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of the Storm, a whole bunch of new stuff was introduced, including the Seeker, a survivor with a very explosive kit. Ignoring the stuff that broke in the game recently, the new stuff has been a blast, and as usual, there are alternate abilities to unlock for each DLC character. Here is a quick guide on how to get the Seeker’s other secondary!
How to Unlock Seeker’s Alternate Secondary Ability
In order to get this secondary ability unlocked, you just have to complete the “Seeker: Airborne Souls” challenge. This requires you to hit three or more airborne enemies with a single hit of Spirit Punch’s explosive hit.
This is actually fairly simple, as it’s basically just every third hit of your normal attacks. To simplify the process, we can use the following artifacts:
- Artifact of Kin – Ensures that there is only one monster type in each level.
- Artifact of Swarms – Doubles the spawns for every mob.
If you don’t have either or both of these unlocked, we have a guide that will show you how to unlock all of the artifacts. That should help you get all of the others that you’re missing as well.
Now, all you need to do is to keep resetting runs until the Artifact of Kin selects a flying monster. Ideally, you want lesser wisps, but blind pests will work too. Just remember that the latter hurts a lot more if you get hit.
Once you have confirmed that the only enemy in the level is going to be an airborne type, go and find the teleporter and activate it as soon as possible to start rapidly spawning in more.
Finally, just find any clumped up group with at least three of them together. Start firing your first two attacks away from the group. Then, run a little close and fire the third shot to hit them all with the explosive effect.
As long as you are within range, the explosion should hit the whole group. If it did, you should receive a notification that you completed the “Seeker: Airborne Souls” challenge.
That is pretty much it! You have now unlocked the Soul Spiral ability, which is a drastically different move compared to the default one. Personally, I like Unseen Hand better because of the heal, but that’s cause I tend to soak up a lot of damage.
