How to Upgrade Guns
In Atomfall, there are three qualities of guns that you’ll be able to find: Rusty, Stock and Pristine. Rusty guns are the lowest quality while Pristine are the highest.
As you upgrade your weapons, you either get new properties or existing properties are upgraded. For example, let’s take the Semi Automatic Revolver Pistol. It has two properties: High Damage and Low Accuracy.
Upgrading the Rusty Revolver to Stock will add another property: High Range. Similarly, upgrading the Terrier Rifle from Stock to Pristine will improve the High Accuracy to Excellent Accuracy. However, it will not really address the Low Damage property.
Unfortunately, you can’t really control what property gets improved. It will vary from weapon to weapon. Besides better properties, the guns will also have a better overall look to them.
To actually upgrade guns, you will need to get the Gunsmith survival skill. You can find it in your skills menu.
Once you have this skill, go into your Crafting menu. Here, you will now be able to craft upgraded guns. To do this, you will need to combine two weapons of the same quality to get the upgraded quality.
Here is a breakdown of how to upgrade guns in Atomfall:
- Rusty to Stock
- Combine x2 Rusty Weapons
- Stock to Pristine
- Combine x2 Stock Weapons
So, for example, if you want to get a Pristine Eastleigh Shotgun, you will need to combine x2 Stock Eastleigh Shotguns.
Keep in mind that the guns will need to be of the same type. This means you cannot combine two different guns, they’ll need to be the same model.
