Item Asylum is a fun Roblox randomizer that essentially spawns you with three random items. You use these weapons to fight against other players or enemy zombies. When you fight in the ZS map, you will have a hard time trying to do anything since this is considered a difficult map to fight in. If you are looking to do a run of ZS in Item Asylum, then you have come to the right place. In this guide, I will show you how you can efficiently do a ZS run in this complete ZS guide.
Complete ZS Guide
As said before, you will spawn in with 3 random items and weapons. The gear you get will change every time you respawn. You might get better weapons or not, so be sure to be aware of your gear when you do respawn. This goes for all game modes, making this game a randomizer of sorts.
General Tips
When you start a game, you will be with a group of other survivors as zombies start pouring in to kill you. With your gear being randomized, you will most likely see a bunch of people with terrible weapons that will only get you killed if you stick with them. Normally, there is strength in numbers. However, strength doesn’t really matter if the weapons your group has can barely do damage.
That’s why you should always stick with the ones with the better weapons. Those would be Real Knife, Smile, and Lilynette. These are weapons that can spawn in on a random survivor. If you can find a survivor with one of these weapons, stay with them to ensure your survival.
As a zombie, it’s recommended to target the person with the above mentioned weapons. This is essential early in a game. With the survivor with the better weapons out, you will only have to worry about the survivors with the weaker weapons to take down, which will be easy if you and your other zombie allies gang up on them.
However, if you were not able to take out the survivor with the stronger weapons and you’re in the late game, it’s recommended that you instead focus on killing the weaker survivors and save the survivor with the strongest weapon for last. That way, you and your other zombie allies can rush the stronger survivor and overwhelm them with numbers.
Hitbox & Weapons
You should also be aware of the hitboxes of your attacks. Zombies have relatively smaller hitboxes for their attacks, so they have to get close in order to deal damage. But for survivors, you will have a plethora of weapons that can help keep you alive. While Real Knife, Smile, and Lylynette are all powerful weapons, the others are still good.
There are some that can cause stun when you hit enemies, which is valuable when dealing with a group of zombies. Be sure to remain on the defense when using those weapons, as they are not really made for damage.

Zombies & How to Counter Them
As survivors, you will face off against more than one zombie type. Each zombie type all have different strengths and weaknesses that you should be aware of when fighting them. Here are the counters you should do when fighting against these types of zombies:
- Normal Zombie – No special tactic needed. Just move around quick and don’t stay in one spot for too long and giving them a chance to attack you.
- Elemental – These zombies are imbued with elemental power that can quite literally cook you. Their Eruption ability sends an attack towards you that you can easily dodge by jumping to the side.
- Shriekers – These zombies are nothing too special when it comes to damage or health. However, what makes them dangerous is that they can inflict you with a Curse debuff that stacks up 4 times. When you are inflicted, a normal zombie can approach you and deal 4 times the damage and kill you quickly.
- Fallen – The Fallen are essentially smarter zombies that can wield weapons and use them. They will also have randomized weapons as well, which means there is a chance they can spawn with a powerful weapon. Simply attack them from afar with range attacks or overwhelm them with numbers with other survivors.
- Commie – They are essentially the exploding kinds of zombies. They will rush you and try to blow themselves up, hoping to kill you and your group or at least damage you enough to weaken you. Similar to Fallen, use range weapons to kill them or gang up on them quickly before they can explode.
- Tanks – Tanks are, well, tanks. They can take on a ton of damage and also deal a lot of damage when attacking players. The good part about this is Tanks are very slow, so you can easily outrun them. To defeat one, you will need to attack him with high power range weapons. Trying to gang up on them will just kill more survivors.
- Rider – These zombies are equipped with shields that can block range attacks no problem. The only way to really counter these zombies is by ditching the range weapons and attacking them with melee weapons. Melee weapons, for some reason, can go through the shield and damage them.
- Screamer – The loudest of the bunch. Screamers are only really good for stunning survivors, especially a large group of survivors. Other than that, they’re not really dangerous. They are extremely vulnerable when screaming, which is essentially giving you a free kill.
- Snatcher – Like the name suggests, these zombies will latch onto you by using their tongues and snatching you away from your group and into more zombies. They are relatively easy to counter, as all you need to do is just be unpredictable and jump around to avoid getting targeted. It also helps that the recent update has nerfed them a little, so use that to your advantage.
- Hunter – Like the zombie in Left 4 Dead, a Hunter will pounce on you from afar and keep you knocked down while it claws away at you. Just like in Left 4 Dead, the best way to counter it is by moving to the side and killing it quickly to avoid getting pounced on.
- Spitters – These zombies are more annoying than anything. Simply take them out before they can spit an area of effect attack on you and your other allies. However, they’re not that big of a threat as long as you keep moving and not sticking to one spot.
- Ghost – An invisible enemy that can attack you at any angle. The only way to really counter this is by upping your brightness until you can see a faint outline of the model. They’re also really weak and a single melee attack with a weapon like a bat can kill them easily.
Map Positioning
In ZS, positioning is key when trying to survive. No area is truly safe, which is why it’s recommended that you and other players must congregate to one area on the map that will serve as your last stand. If that doesn’t work and you are reduced to only a handful of survivors, it’s best to retreat to a backup spot that will serve as your desperate attempt in surviving.
Here are the criteria of what makes a main spot and a backup spot:
- Main Spots
- Short ceiling and cover to protect yourself against the normal zombies
- A large wall to be used as a shield when projectile zombies are in play
- Backup Spots
- A tall structure where you can use the high ground to your advantage
- A lot of pits or walls to protect against the normal zombies
