Villages in Minecraft are full of Villagers that look like humans and Squidward hybrids.
In the original Minecraft, you only get to trade with the villagers and stay in their homes if you didn’t have a bed already made. They never served a greater purpose outside of that, but that changes in Minecraft Legends.
This time, the villagers are part of the gameplay because the Piglins are occupying their villages and destroying them.

How To Repair Villages – Minecraft Legends
When a village is destroyed or has low health, it’s due to Piglin’s coming in and raiding the area like there’s no tomorrow. You will need to defeat all Piglins and clear the area.
Once the village is all clear of any Pilglin, you will need to build a Carpenter Hut.
The Carpenter Hut repairs any destroyed structures nearby. Placing this in a destroyed village will repair any structure that was destroyed.
Bear in mind that the village won’t be functional again until it reaches 3%.
