Where Winds Meet features a bunch of different side quests that you can undertake. While these provide you with additional lore, the rewards are fairly worth it. You can actually unlock some really important items from them that will help you out with your journey. One key quest is Afterglow which is where you unlock the basic skill of Wind Walking i.e. flying. There is a challenge where you must reach the midstream boat that can be really difficult to beat. We’ll show you exactly how you can get to it. Without further delay, let’s get into it!

Reach the Midstream Boat

During the Afterglow lost chapter, you’ll need to go to the fisherman. You can find him by heading to the location shown below.

Here, you will be given a challenge where you need to reach the Midstream boat by jumping on the jars. This can be quite challenging as you will need to master the game’s parkour.

To start the challenge, talk to the fisherman and start it. Otherwise, you will not be able to pass the challenge even if you reach the boat. Additionally, you’ll have a limited time to reach the boat.

There are two ways in which you can get there:

  • Legit Way
    •     Double jump → triple jump → dash
    •     Time the gaps carefully
  • Cheese
    •     Miss a jump?
    •     Pop umbrella → hold charged attack → glide across like a guilty genius.

You can go with whichever one you want. Keep at it and eventually you will be able to reach the boat. From here, you will be given a booklet which is where you actually unlock basic windwalking.

However, there are still some more requirements to fulfill mentioned in our how to unlock windwalking guide.

Here is a video showing how you can reach the boat the legit way using movement tech.

Wrap Up

That’s everything you need to know about reaching the Midstream Boat in Where Winds Meet. Hopefully, this guide has given you an idea of the movement tech you can use to pass the challenge. It can be quite frustrating especially given that a lot of this movement is not something you are familiar with unless you’re experienced with the game. But keep trying and eventually you should be able to nail it. It’s worth it as you’ll eventually learn how to fly in the game.
